Blessed Seven,

Yes Lion! I still buy the CD. Currently some friends of mine have just got done recording their second album and it's been mixed now. Even though I LOVE to go out and see them perform LIVE (cause really...what can beat that??) Personally I CAN'T WAIT for the album to be released. For several reasons...

1 - They are awesome artists and need to be supported
2 - although I appreciate the "technology" of the times we live in (internet/ipods and such) but there is nothing like popping a CD in your car, turning up the vibes and riding out
3 - (goes back to 1) if you really love and support the music - you need to love and support THE ARTIST. How else can they make more of the music you claim to love, if you are denying them their funds???

Yes I! I man still buy some music from time to time, mostly likkle artists, just to support them.
on the other hand, there´s so much music for free nowheredays and i do only have two ears,so the most music still is unheard by de I.
Music is love to I and whenever a man try to make his living from selling this love, sometin nah work right.Music saved my life,so as anyone try to sell my salvation, sometin nah right ,too.
As a man call himself an artist, but try to sell his art,he´s a trader trading art,but not an artist no more to de I.At least the whole system of selling and buying is a babylonian offspring,it will go down very soon....
Every individual can do music or sing, but only few expect to make their living from it....
I respect any idren, who works hard, but the thing is: unconditionality is a must!
Thanx for taking the time to read and overstand.
Bless up, Dirk I.Rebel

Greetings,

I don't buy that much music nowadays because so much of what I hear is the same old stale rhythms that the producers are recycling over and over again. I was begining to think that the music was stagnant and repetitive, lacking anything in the way of originality! But thank god for the internet! There is so much talented artist that produce original music.

I tend to look for releases on vinyl instead of cd but cds are still good anyway. I'm from the old school and this is what I grew up with and vinyl will always have place in my choice of music formats...fe real!

The artists need to keep making original music that is both inspirational and creative - sing a song onto jah. Anyway, this is what I think needs to be instilled in the new breed of artists.

Take care and jah guide!

Greetings from germany,

i buy records on cd still too, But i try to get them over ebay or amazon etc, because they are cheaper their. But I only buy records from old roots reggae artists cause I'm more inna that, seen? I will NEVER buy one dancehall record, so not many roots artist release many albums today, so what is not on the market i can't buy.

I think the reggae artists (or dancehall artists) nah sell records cause of the bad vibes around them you know all that agressive things and so on, you know what I'm talkin bout. The end will be that these artists will only make music inna their homecountries for the people their and everythin will slow down, so nothin international anymore.

Jah bless!

I for sure still buy the album. I buy few albums per year, as in maybe 5 or less each year. However i dont download anything. When i really love an artist, i must have the true hard copy, the way it was intended.

Of course i wish to support the artist, above all. But almost as significantly its for myself, if i really love an album, i just have to have it the way it was intended. Makes it real, feels like a collection piece far more than something downloaded which feels stolen and cheapens my listening experience.

Yes mi lion!Ashes on i head for not replying earlier to this blog...

I been meditating on this and here is what i found:CD is nothing organic, also capturing the vibe on any media is impossible.Emotions are good sometimes when hearing an ital tune, the need to put this positive emotion into one owns library is understandable, but nothing more than saving money for later when times turn bad.i..d call it trying to conservate good feelings...
Like a baker who earns his income from selling bread,a singer needs to perform for his bread. In any other way theres many fakes possible...musicians are craftsmen and if one doesn..t do his work right,he doesn..t deserve to earn a thing. If one knows his art and reaches the hearts of the audience(without Vst..s and multitasking, etc) he..ll surely get a pay...too many pretend artists around try to get a share only for the biz.

Selling of arts(not only music, also paintings and sculptures, books) is not an old thing and very soon it will be done!

Bless up!

ChrisTuff / DUB TINGS IN PREPARATION

Guten Abend,

alles liebe christuff
