Current mood: hungover
Hello Spaghettiheads!
The Reverend Bill checking in here for a
word about Spaghettifest 7! Despite the rain, the good ol' funk
mobsters themselves, Midnight Spaghetti & The Chocolate G-Strings
have managed to pull off another year of great music, great vibes, and
a great time, all for a great cause.
Their performance on
Saturday was the first time I have seen them since last year, which was
the last year with former singer Seth Casana. No one was sure what to
expect, but their new frontman, ETC. was great. Besides being a natural
showman, and an amazing rapper/singer, he won the crowd over with his
sense of humor, and set the vibe for a party of a set.
The band
delivered a set that was fun, and fresh, and left us all in the sway of
their party, feeling not like wet, bedraggled mud-covered hippies, but
intimate guests at the party of the year. Mickey Glago has stepped up
and is delivering more vocals, and the new songs were great.
Heart
Gets Monkey played Sunday, and closed out the festival. Our set had the
best energy we have had in some time, with Jess Bergh delivering some
killer rhythm on her new cocktail drum set. We even had a dancing
monkey handing out bananas to all the potassium-starved folks left over
after the deluge!! (thanks Nancy!)
Thanks to all the campers at
the sites E-01, 03 & 05 (otherwise known as The Sexy Bitches!)
Having great friends to share our days and nights, and queso, and beer,
and liquor and party favors, well, that is what it's all about!
Thanks
always to Molly Murphy and the Natty Chims crew for holding down the
fort, and for all the stage hands, sound guys, volunteers, and JMU
Earth Clubbers for cleaning up the place, and making the festival run
smooth. My grandfather used to tell me, "Boy, you don't have sense
enough to come in out of the rain." This weekend I was glad I was
senseless!
Much Love to all!
The Reverend Bill Howard & Heart gets Monkey!!!!
