Before you read this blog: I did a lot of research for it, and put a lot of thought and effort into it. So please, read the whole thing. If you agree or not, read what I have to say and leave a comment with your thoughts. Enjoy!
-----

I just read an article I saw on Digg entitled "Sex Ed for Kindergarteners 'Right Thing to Do,' Says Obama."
Here's a link: The Article

I, for one, DON'T think this is a good idea at all. In the article, he says he supports "age appropriate sex education." How is it age appropriate in gradeschool??? In today's schools, we teach sex ed at puberty. That's the most appropriate age, isn't it? If we move sex education back further and further, won't we just aid in the apparent decline of sexual morals in our next generations?

On a more philosophical side, our thoughts lead to the actions we take in life. For me, the only time I began thinking about sex was after sex ed. Although I held back the urges, most people I know didn't-- most of which regret it greatly now. If we teach our children about sex at a younger age, we'd just be putting thoughts in their heads, leading to actions they'll all regret in the future. Our culture has become so desensitized to sexual content, that we're laxing our standards to a point of almost insanity!

So here's my plea to you: For your kids' sake, for our the sake of our culture, for the sake of sexual morality... Don't support Obama-- or any liberal for that matter.

And on a much larger scale... Liberals/ Democrats are using the war in Iraq against GOP candidates, yet they support sex ed in gradeschools. That fuels another, much more deadly war that feeds off of stupidity and immorality-- currently being fought for by the liberals.

The American Social Health Association(ashastd.org) writes that each year, one in four teens contracts an STD/STI. The World Health Report, WHO, 2004 states that there's about 2,000 deaths from STDs excluding HIV in America every year. HIV/AIDS kill over 15,000 people per year alone. Pushing back the age at which we teach kids about sex will only increase these numbers, at a younger age.

Furthermore, if you compare the number of STD deaths to the deaths in Iraq, guess which one's higher? Altogether, there have been 3628 deaths in Iraq. Averaged out to years: 907 per year. 907 compared to 2,000+++!

The mainly democratic-run media keeps pushing the negativity of the war, while silencing the much more serious war in your own neighborhoods.

Well, I'm going to stop here because I could go off on so many more tangents, do much more research, and make this into a full book on how democrats are ridiculous. But I hope this made you think at least a little bit.
I'm looking forward to many comments. Negative or positive, I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Have a fantastic day!
JC

it almost feels as though you are against anything remotely close to being called liberal simply because it is liberal, not because it might be a good idea or not. don't be so close minded man. just because something is liberal doesn't make it bad, and it goes visa versa just because something is conservative doens't make it bad either.

anyone who watches tv or has flipped on the tube for 5 minutes or longer can tell you sex ed or not, sexual content is exploited everywhere. it's the largest marketing scheme out now. you don't have to be past pueberty to see whats going on and to make the slightest of connections. to be honest i was curious about sex and had plenty of sexual thought flowing through my brain long before pueberty. if i had to guess why i'd say it was my surroundings. i lived in an apartment complex and most of my friends were older. awareness is the cure, not sheltering until it's a) too late or b) when YOU think its time. education is the best prevention. people are going to do what they are want to do, and the best thing anyone can do is educate them about consequenses before they blindly jump into anything.

i think the part about your blog i dissagree with most is that your assuming the negative will come forth first before any postive. also, liberal or not. the war in iraq is wrong. killing people is wrong. and as we were all taught from kindergarten "2 wrongs don't make a right".

in my opinion, our culture is the most ignorant. we are the laughing stock of all nations. we are the least educated. i hate the two party system. i think it's the bane of politics. i don't consider myself a liberal, i don't consider myself conservative. if anything i feel like an outsider trying to look at the big picture.

i want more people to comment on this blog. i think you've brought an important topic up for discussion. love you man. peace.

You've succeeded JC, this has made me think. And laugh a little too. I sense just a bit of humor put forth in this piece of writing. But who wouldn't chuckle if the idea of teaching sex ed to kindergartners was seriously considered. That is ridiculous. I personally don't think it's being taught too late in schools. But even if it was... kindergarten? When I have kids, I don't want them to learn what chlamydia is at school and then come home and beg me to let them watch Bob the Builder. Some Liberals are just plain crazy (not all of them though).
And I totally agree with what you said about the media being democratic and pushing war war war war war. Or course that's a huge issue, but there are a lot of other things going on that need our attention too. You never hear about the good things that our government does anymore.
Yeah, sex ed in kindergarten does not seem like the "right thing to do".
Catch you later mannnnnnnnnn

Cap,
I totally agree with you on this one. Nobody can argue that what you focus on expands and if you focus on sex as a kindergartner it will expand. I would like to meet the person who thought it was a good that their child comes home at the age of 5 saying "vagina, penis, genital warts." I know children who talk that way because and only because they have been taught by some older kid, but they are the minority, and it sickens me. What a flat out ridiculous idea. I can see how somebody might have thought this was a good idea until they actually brought logic and psychology into the equation.

As for the liberal media... nothing has done more damage to this country that them. It's amazing to me that all these liberal people who have the mindset of "I don't follow the norm, I'm different on purpose." can be so easily brainwashed by somebody saying "War bad, Killing Bad." Don't you think a global war is a little more complicated then "war bad". Seriously though if you vote for a liberal president you better be the first one in line to sign up for a war over here when it happens. because as of now we have the upper hand fighting away from home.

I agree with Eric though that the two party system is wrong, because i don't see how anyone can vote liberal and actually be serious about it. There is a saying that goes," If you are a republican you don't have a heart, if you are a democrat then you don't have a mind." I think both would suck to not have but in this case i think a mind would move the economy forward better then a heart don't you? Because that is the whole idea right? Not to live in a third world country where capitalism is outlawed and people bath in their filth.

I do hope you get more comments on this Cap because i love hearing how smart people think they are, and how some people actually have god input.

I think the thing here to ask yourself is how many of those 2,000+++ have been taught abstinence only sexual education? I think that's an issue you should be worrying about much more than telling kindergartners something that will be age appropriate and very easy to opt your child out of.

I think what it comes down to though is this ..m/ liberals ..m/

okay- so a couple things i want to mention here...

first of all, you should check your facts for the whole..."showing sex ed at an earlier age will just put ideas into kids head" thing. even though YOU didn’t have sex in your head at a young age...I personally already knew what sex was well before I was ever introduced to sex ed. Also I have a cousin who is in middle school and is not yet at the age of being taught sex ed...but she has friends her age already having sex. Its hard to imagine but its happens. I feel that the majority of kids already know what sex is from the media not necessarily sex ed. so much of the media puts this idea that there is no consequences for having sex...ya know? if anything sex ed is simply correcting this false image. Whenever I took sex ed….it never gave me the idea of sex being good or sex being bad. It just informs you how to protect yourself. Oh and another thing....sex isn’t a bad thing. it wasssss a gift from god after all. i just think that the world gives it this terrible image. Maybe if we stop making it out to be such a touchy subject and just start being honest with children on the good and bad of sex…then they’d make better choices. And lets just face the facts here….there are kids out there that are going to have sex. not everyone out there thinks premarital sex is immoral. So we might as well try to help them protect themselves eh?

Second of all, you are comparing deaths caused from stds and the war in Iraq ? I just got to say….those two things are dumb to compare. Even though stds may cause more deaths…those deaths are accidental , from personal choices., and possibly from a lack of knowledge on the subject. The deaths in Iraq are coming from hate, and anything with hate is a terrible thing to support.

Now, I’m not going to tell you where I stand cause I think its important to make your own decisions, but its also important to listen to both sides. Don’t completely reject liberals. Listen to what they have to say.

-rachelle(these are my own personal opinions by the way…they have nothing to do with ikon. Juuusttt thought I’d clarify that haha)

Good discussion topic!!!
