November 5, 2008 - Wednesday

So the election is over.

Honestly, I almost didn't vote because I was unsure & hesitant about it.
There are things I disagree with on both sides,
but I won't even go into that.

I do believe that Obama is capable of bringing this "change" that the majority desires
& I do believe that he won for a reason.
(That doesn't mean I voted for him though.)
& right now, I really could care less about who won. It's done & over with.
We are now to give him respect as our president.

What is sad is how people allow to stir up commotion
& build hate & animosity between each other due to opposing views.
It started a while back & yet continues on even when it's over.
That is not what this election was for. We are to unite as one country.
Yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinion
& believe it or not, everyone's going to be biased & close-minded.
So do people think attacking someone for their views is going to get them anywhere?
This is why I chose not to speak of what I believe in.
(& come on guys, this is just MySpace.)
I just hope people knew exactly what they were voting for & educated themselves first
& just didn't... follow the crowd.

But then, this is my blog & I can't write what it want in it.
& I will disclose one thing.

All I want to divulge is what I feel about the one thing that saddens me most. Abortion.

I hope people aren't reasoning for cheaper gas & tax prices over the cost of life.
Never is it equitable to take away the life of a helpless baby as if it's nothing.
It's just not right (unless if raped by an old, crusty man).
Whether you regard it as a human being or not, it is still life.
It's what could have been. & I have told this before.
I once was pro-choice until I really thought it out & realized I was selfish & naive.
If one feels that they are ready, responsible, & mature enough
to take on the pleasures & excitement of consensual sex,
then they should be ready & mature enough
to handle the responsibilities & consequences it may bring.
Or maybe one should just keep their legs closed until they are.
Sooner or later, if not already,
people are going to use abortions as just another form of birth control.
If people don't want to get pregnant, they should be doing something before the pants drop
& do something about the cause of the problem rather than the after effect.
That baby could be the greatest gift, one that helps them mature,
or it could ruin ones life. Either way, someone's life gets ruined.

I was unplanned & a mistake. My mom even admitted it.
They didn't love each other. (& I'm sure it's the same for many others.)
But I sure as heck am grateful that she decided to keep me alive & raise me the way she did.

That is all.
Happy election night.
( I really didn't think I'd write this much. I always do that. D; )

I'm pro-abortion, but for many reasons other than the economical effects on America.
I don't think that this is really about protecting the innocent. I think about what people will do to themselves if the law were to be passed. The problem with limiting abortion is that teenagers who want to go through with it and are unable to, would probably take it underground just like they did in the early 1900's. It's happened before, and it will most likely happen again. Alley-way abortions. People often think about how limiting abortion rights will help us as it will save lives, but on the contrary, it will bring a lot more pain than was first planned. Also, I do not think that abortion should and will be used as another form of birth control. Despite people's choices, I'm sure they still feel the guilt of having an abortion. I don't think they'd want to do it over and over. Also, I feel that it is not anyone's right to impose one's beliefs on a subject on anyone else, hence the reason why I've been hating church for the past 2 weeks. It's not fair, really. Just because someone likes Rock music, doesn't give that person the right to make someone else like Rock music. But that's just my opinion. Anyway, I can get deeper into this, but I won't. I can see what you mean about protecting an innocent life, and I feel that people should be more aware of what they're doing before taking part in the abortion process, but to be honest, people will never be wise enough to think of their actions and consequences, and no one will consider doing so even if the laws were passed. So I see no point, really. =/

Yeah, I was aware that if the law had been passed, then girls would go by other means to get the procedure done which could result in harming themselves. & how this is why it has become such an issue. But it all still lies within the same concept of how they could've prevented it from happening. & honestly, I'd rather have them hurt themselves in the process rather than just the "baby," which could lead them to learning from it. It's their problem & they brought it upon themselves with the consequence they should face. But that's just me. & heck no would I want the world to become overpopulated. & I think it already is. But that lies in the decision people choose to make, which should be made beforehand because it can be avoided. It's just that people these days take sex so lightly. If you look around, people are just having sex with anyone, having one-night stands, & even 12+ kids are doing it. It's all just fun & games.. until they get positive pregnancy results. & only then does it becomes serious. & for those who are serious about sex, they should to be ready for what can happen. I know that some just can't afford, don't want children too close together, don't love the guy/girl, are too young, or just aren't ready. Then they ought to condomize themselves & take birth control pills that would give them pretty much virtually no chance of becoming pregnant, which is free & a whole lot easier than the whole abortion process. & I'm sure many would feel guilty about getting 'em done, but there will be those who wouldn't even give a rat's ass about it. I don't know. & I don't think I could make an effect on anyone who is pro-choice or anyone at all for that matter. This is just my opinion & my ventilation of what has been bothering me most about the whole election thing. Ah, & no way would I want kids now, but I'm ready for what could happen.

& I know what you mean about the church. Hah. I could say a lot about that, but I won't. Thing's just never change.

Sorry, in the first comment I said I was "pro-abortion". Haha, I meant pro-choice. I'm not pro-abortion, or anti-life. My mistake!

Yah, I understand what you mean about people being careless with sex. It's true. But if anything, I think that people (namely the government) should actually take strides in providing a better form of birth control. I do think that people are being careless, but I blame the fact that contraceptives are taken so lightly. It's dumb. People need to push for making them more available. It's strange though that people are so against condoms in school, but also against abortion. It's like, would you rather have students learn about sex and actually use protection, or have kids impregnate themselves because they didn't have these contraceptives available to them, and then have their child aborted? I think the underlying issue is about the birth control, really. I don't support death by any means, but I just look at the practicality of it all. People will just never learn, and be irresponsible with sex, no matter what people enforce. But I feel for those children that have been born into a world with no legitimate parents, or sucky lifestyles. And yes, America is wayyy overpopulated, which is another reason why I am pro-choice. =)
I'm not, however, pro-abortion. There's a difference, which you probably know.

Hah, exaaactly. I abhor the fact how our church is soo against sex-education. Dude, teens are gonna do it anyway with or without it. Rather have them educated on how to protect themselves rather than go on having sex without the proper knowledge of pregnancy & STD risks. -__- I don't understand their methods of teaching sometimes. & contraceptives & bags of condoms come free if you just visit Planned Parenthood, even without parental consent. That's like home for many adolescents. But true, people are gonna do it anyway, because it's "fun" & full of pleasure. & I also think of how kids have to live shitty lives because of the choice their parents made of bringing them into this world, & it is sad, but it's on their parents to blame. & honestly, I think the best way to solve this interminable problem of over-population is by building the friggin' tower of Babel at the borders & weeding out all the illegals. X= Ughh.
