Dear Areola fans,

On Friday the 4th September I will be picking up my bass guitar and lugging it on stage at the Hacienda (Baystreet) with the Areola Treat for one last time.

Yes indeed my time with the band is up, as I am going on to pursue a career as a Black Metal solo artist... think bedroom recordings of lo-fi suicidal/satanic music in the daaaark syle of Bathory/Burzum/Leviathan. I will even be doing the croaking and shrieking myself. Keep your ears to the ground for one-off live appearances in the future.

So this is your last chance to see the original Areola Treat line-up blasting their way through a set of vintage songs... and your last chance to get your cds, t-shirts, bras, teeth, foreheads, etc signed by myself.

For those of you who may be horrified at the prospect of a bass-less, horribly trebly Areola, let me put your minds at rest. My place will be filled by the young and enthusiastic Steve Shaw, who is presently undergoing a Daniel-son style intensive training session with myself in the role of Mr. Miyagi ('Stevie-son, show me Boulevard Werewolf... now show me Turn the Beat'... you get the picture).

I will sign off by saying that it has been a great 3 years for me... my band mates, our regular fans, the recordings sessions with David at Temple Studios, and our friends in Belgium have all helped to make the time really memorable. I'd like to wish the band all the best. You really deserve it! And to all you fans out there... get off yer arses and give them your full support.
