Prologue: The founding of the Dead Letter System
Or would that be 'proto-logue'?


This is the part of the story that gets interesting later, and not so wonderful to look at at the time.


See, I really have done what I always promised that I would - I have left my old life with _no option_ other than to pursue that which I promised I would:


The total domination of the world.



In a slightly more familiar framing, I think I know how information spreads across systems. Furthermore, I believe that this information is, itself, spreading/about to spread across the system that we are living in.


I intend to surf the wave.




Now, if you know me at all, you know that I have gone on and on and on (and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on... Peanut Butter!)


about the theoretical aspects. That part doesn't interest people any more. Now it is time to present, and execute, a plan.



So here's the plan:


1) Create a legal infrastructure for accepting money. This is sometimes known as a 'corporation'.


2) Accept Money to begin experiments on spreading information across systems, ie cities. This is sometimes known as 'inciting to riot'.



The astute observer may note that there is a giant whopping step in the middle there - convincing other people(s) out there with money to fund our insane adventures. Yup. That's the step I'm on. It's also the step I HATE.


I only need a little bit of money (1.2 million dollars) to begin the chain reaction, after which there will be other people than me to get the money to make the stuff go. So this is the one time where I will have to interact with the Money Metaphor in a way that is 'slightly against my will'.





So this involves the following steps:


1) Forming corporations in Oregon, and later in Washington and California, if necessary.

2) Travelling to Berkeley, next Monday, in order to begin an information experiment

3) Attracting the attention of George Lakoff

4) ...?

DVDs can be for us to distribute (freeware) out to the world (show your art!), or for a specific recipient.

If you send your DVD to a specific recipient, we're going to copy it and send it out in the world in multiple copies anyway.

Thursday - Portland to talk to Lawrence Wallack
Friday - Eugene to talk to Mark Johnson
Saturday - Sunday - Camping with Ari
Monday - Drive to S.F., Four Tet that night!
