CHECK IT OUT...

********************************

Alex, thank you for taking time for the interview. What have you been up to?

Thanks, Jason.  I've been doing a couple pretty cool things as of late.  I just got back from Chicago where I was recording with a new rapper, Chris Link, that Chip Z'nuff is producing.  The guy is really good and is a big fan of old school rock.  He had me play on a track that that incorporates the guitar riff from "Bang Your Head."  It was a lot of fun and it was great to see Chip's studio. He has been doing very well recently and will appear on the latest Kanye West project with Malik Yusef, Twista and Adam Levine of Maroon 5 among others.  I believe it is going to out early next year.

In other news,
Joe Leste has also contacted me about doing a new BANG TANGO record.  There is an offer on the table which, coupled with the team he has put together, has the potential to be very special.  I am looking forward to writing with him again seeing as we just had one of the Beautiful Creatures songs off of "Deuce" used in "The Proposal' starring Sandra Bullock.

When I last talked with you, you had just gotten the Adler's Appetite gig....Can you tell the readers of Chaotic Riffs Magazine how you hooked up with Adler's Appetite?

I had played with Steven on the "Bad Boys Of Metal" tour in 2004. We remained friends and when Adler wanted to put the band back together, he called me.  I wish there was more of a story, but that's it!

Adler's Appetite pretty much plays the Appetite For Destruction album top to bottom during it's show.  When you first joined the band how long did it take you to learn to play all those songs?

I already knew most of them.  It was more a matter of myself and Michael Thomas sorting out who was going to do what guitar-wise. We play really well off of each other which is so important in a two guitar band like this.

ADLERS APPETITE 2009

Did you ever see the original Guns N Roses perform in concert?

The "original?"  No. I saw them on the Metallica/Faith No More tour and then again on the "Skin and Bones" tour.

Have you had a chance to hear Chinese Democracy?  If so what are your thoughts on the album?

Yes, it's got some really cool stuff on it.  It's a lot more involved than your straight-ahead rock record.  I really like the song "I.R.S" and the riff in the title track is very catchy.

I understand that prior to ex-Adler's Appetite singer Tarsha leaving the band that you and him actually had a falling out and came to blows...........Would you mind talking at all about any of that?

Not at all.  It was really just a case of cabin fever on the tour bus and a lot of shows in a row.  Tarsha and I spoke at this past Rocklahoma festival and it's all good.  He seems to be much happier doing his own music.

Would you mind telling the readers of our magazine who the current lead singer of Adler's Appetite is and how he came to join the band?

Our current singer is Rick Stitch from the Hollywood band "LADYJACK". He is a really great guy and fun to be around.  We had a lot of laughs on the summer tour. We met him through a cattle-call like audition and within 24 hours we were onstage with him.

I understand that Steven Adler recently put out an instructional DVD and that you and the rest of the band play on the DVD....Can you tell our readers a little bit about this new DVD?

It's pretty cool.  Steven did a really good job explaining the rudiments of rock drumming.  It's great for anyone starting out.  We (Chip, Michael and I) just went on set and jammed in front of the cameras...very loose and fun.

When we last talked you were also part of Dizzy Reed's band Hookers & Blow.  What's currently going on with Hookers & Blow?

It's kind of funny that people ask about something that was really supposed to be a joke.    We even went so far as to trademark the name; I'm pretty sure that's not what our founding fathers had in mind when they wrote the Constitution!  We got a lot of mileage out of it and had a lot of fun doing those shows...from what I remember.

Is there anything else that you'd like to add Alex?

Thanks to everyone for the continued support! I will see you soon...
