Current mood:SHAPE SHIFTEY
Sorry for missing last weeks BLOG guys, and I promise I will never do that to you again. SORRY! BUT! This week? WOW! I’m baaaaaaack! I am so excited about this episode, sooo..

WHAT I GOT FROM: Dead Is Dead

IT’S ONE THING TO BELIEVE IT

In the words, and only words of our leader and savor on the island for the “Others”, Jacob, “HELP ME!.” Wow! What the shit is going on here? I have so much to say, and type out, but for some reason, loss for words. It ‘s one thing to believe it, but it’s another to see it huh? We have heard a lot of these stories in the past seasons and FINALLY we get to see them played out. Rousseau and Alex. Charles is banished. Ben was beaten badly before “coming back to the island, but we predicted this. Richard didn’t always wear eyeliner, didn’t predict this!
Ben admits he hoped that the island would bring John back to life, which it did. BUT. Why do I get this feeling, not so much by the end of the episode? Ben KNOWS much. He knows he needs to go to the main island to confess his actions and be judged by Smokey. But, it’s John who takes him there. Ben has lived on the island for DECADES, but it’s John who knows to go underground and not around? Ben has summoned this Smoke Monster for years and now can’t find him. It’s night time when he does, but then it’s DAYLIGHT next scene?! Why is Ben not up to par with the Ben we are used to before he came back….WAAAAAAIT! Is this that two BENS theory I’m screaming? Think about it. It NOT the same Ben!

BEN CAUGHT STEALING

This scene was a HUUUUUUUUUGE reminder that, what we hear, we expect the worst when in all reality, it wasn’t at all how it plays out. We know “the others” steal Alex, and it was Ben, and Ben raised Alex, and now he’s her daddy, etc. BUT! When we see the actual kidnapping, it was to be “just kill the girl”, AND NO ONE tells Ben she has a daughter? Plus, more of this infected!? Rousseau is screaming “infected” and honestly, she’s not crazy, only when Claire has a son of her own.
Other creepy thoughts…”Every time you hear whispers, you run the other way!”…uh, what? This doesn’t even come CLOSE to answering the whispers. Only that it comes from “the others”, and their not nice. Doesn’t look like  I’ll have a “What’cha Talkin’ ‘Bout” section huh? Haha.
So when we heard some crazy stories of what happened “BEFORE” our LOSTIES got there, maybe they are NOT what they seem.

NEW OTHERS

Oh Ben, you just shot one of the new Others when killing Caesar. Plus I think you may have pissed off Ilana at the same time, and this is about to get good. “What’s in the crate?” It’s like a Dharma drop-off all over again.
Let’s not forget the season finale and the commercial we saw though…coming up soon.

JABCOB’S LESSONS

In this episode, we had heard the name Jacob over and over and over again. So, some answers and theories are born. We need to think…with us seeing some answers, thoughts of the work Jacob is capable of come to surface. Babies not being born on the island, Vanessa says since Ben was given orders to kill Rousseau. Ben didn’t kill Alex, so no more babies are born on the island. Seeing as she is the last (that we know of) child born on the island. Also, this could be the way Charles is banished from the island and having children off the island. With a certain so-and-so we all know.

THE ISLAND ISN’T DONE WITH YOU

You know why Desmond didn’t get shot? Island still needs him. He’s not done with the island. He was told by Eloise, let’s see if he listens. So when we see him get shot, and no blood or wound, then this would have to be our answer.

QUICK QUESTION

Where the hell did Locke go when Ben was summoning the Smoke Monster? Also, who the hell is Ben talking to when he says “I’ll be outside.” Locke, who do you go talk to? Did you find Jacob’s cabin again?
ALSO!!!!
Ben calls Widmore before he goes to kill Penny, and Charles Widmore asks “How did you get this number?” and seriously Ben, it does matter!!!! How did he get the number for Charles…BUT, he didn’t know Des and Penny have a child, after 2 years, of their own. BULLOCKS!

THE WRITING ON THE WALL

Is this still helping our theories of Alpert being a pharaoh, or that the OTHERS have been on this island for CENTRIES?! Yes! I feel it is. Plus, if this is the Black Smoke featured in this hieroglyphic, then there HAS to be some answers to what it is. The writing’s on the wall. It plays the guard dog, as the god in the picture is summoning it.  The snake on the bottom and under him is the evil he must protect our god from. The Ankh is in there as well.

WHAT LIES IN THE SHADOW OF THE STATUE

Open sesame! Even though this was a code to see if Lapidus was one of them, I feel the answer is island related.  Remember Naomi…”Tell my sister I love her”, well…here we go again. We all knew Ilana wasn’t what she seemed, and Sayid knew too, but is Widmore planting people on the plane too?  Actually, the question we need to be asking is where is Pierre Chang, and is this FINALLY when the new Dharma recruits we we’re looking for over the break start to come into play with the show? Remember the ComicCon video and the commercial for Dharma in the season finale? Here we go!
Which takes us to the episode of The Little Prince when our LOSTIES were being shot at. There we go. They got the guns and know about the boats. Also, what’s in the crate? Food? Weapons? Jughead II? My theory is pretty crazy, and may not work, but we’ll see. Read below.

THE BLACK SMOKE RIDE COMING TO MGM STUDIOS/DISNEY IN MAY 2009

Is it me or did I feel that Black Smoke scene with Ben was a bit over the top and felt like the Poseidon’s Adventure Ride at Universal Studios or something out of Disney? Well, I guess the LOST RIDE can work, and this may have been their test ride, BUT, I have a feeling kids wouldn’t go for confessing your sins and being judged. Or parents for that matter.

NO MY FIRST NAME AIN’T ALEX, IT’S VINCENT MS. JACKSON IF YOU’RE NASTY.

Soooo, here we come back to the Smoke Monster playing shapes, dead people, etc…RIGHT? NO!!!!!!  And you think that’s LOCKE up there? Well, man, I hate being so exhausted when watching and then doing theories, BUT…let me explain.
In the Missing Pieces final webisode we meet Christian for what SHOULD be our first time.  Watch the video. Look who’s with him, but our good old friend Vincent. A few times now, we have heard the Black Smoke when is Christian is around. The Black Smoke has been connected and referred to as Ceribus, the guard dog of hell.  I know we know all this, but…I feel we can finally separate the theories that the Black Smoke isn’t a shape-shifter and that now, Vincent isn’t what he seems. The Black Smoke is the Black Smoke, but I feel Vincent is a bigger role than we know. Alex appears as the dead usually do on the island, and I feel Vincent performs that role. He is Jacob’s or Christian’s best friend. I know I freak out about this every so often, but read my Final Theory. You LOCKE LOVERS won’t be happy.
So, how did Alex McVincent know that Ben would attempt to kill Locke? Well, when scanning…scanning…scanning Ben and showing him the “Ben Linus, This Is Your Life” recap show, that’s when Ben was most emotional to what he was seeing, Smokey also looked more into who and what Ben is capable of. Which means…”Hey Vincent, we need to stop playing Locke”…wait, what? Oh yeah, Final Theory.

WHAT’CHA TALKIN’ ‘BOUT

“No sense in me dying twice right?” John to Ben. There is some sense in this, and I have this feeling he will die again, and maybe again.

You had a daughter with an outsider.” Ben to Charles Widmore. Outsider? Love it. You crazy culty crazies. BUT! My only thought that with Ben being part of the others is that Ellie was taken out way before that. In 1977  Ellie and Charles are calling the shots, so after some time Ellie is banished and Charles is still in love with her.

Because what’s about to come out of that jungle, is something I can’t control Ben to Sun. Foreshadowing. LOVE IT!!!! Ben is a liar though. We’ll see.

I will hunt you down and destroy you Alex/Vincent to Ben. Some of you may not remember the album “Sailing The Seas Of Cheese” by Primus, but it has some o the most incredible bass/guitar/drums ratio of AWESOMENESS in the world. In the song “Tommy Was A Racecar Driver”, Les Claypool has this line in the breakdown where he laughs and says…”heheh DOG WILL HUNT” and when I heard this…did I say it out loud? Well, now thinking it, it makes sense. Why does Alex say “hunt”…she’s a dog, AND Alex will destroy Ben?!?! WHAT?! NO! But someone playing Alex will destroy him. Ben is NOT scared of a dead girl walking, BUT, he is scared of whatever this thing playing Alex is capable of.  Ben LOVES and will sacrifice everything for the island.

FINAL THEORY

So, this one will probably play out as the craziest idea I have had yet. So! It all comes down to asking the first question to tie all this up. And finding the perfect one right now is impossible. So, let me start with…
What’s in the crate? - Yup! In Ilana and Bram’s crate, what are we looking at here? It’s long. Rectangular. Perfect for a body. HEAR ME OUT! Stop! Yes, a dead body. Ilana says “just some stuff we need to get moved.” Some stuff? Grrrr. But, Ben asks if he could help, even though he knows the answer or knows what’s inside and they wouldn’t want his help anyway. He walks away.  That helps a lot as well.
So, why the dead body? Easy. John Locke is in there. John Locke is dead. Playing the actual John Locke on the island is the shape-shifter…Vincent. OH BOY! I hear all of you freaking out. NO! It could happen. Why do you think we haven’t seen Vincent AT ALL this season? If we saw that mangy mutt, maaaaaybe I wouldn’t feel this way.  But, the dead walk on the island all the time. Doubters may be thinking that we see Vincent play the roles of Shannon, Walt, Claire, Yemi, Ben’s Mom, etc. for maybe a minute the most, but maybe he can take shape for longer. ALSO, where did Locke go when Ben met Smokey? He BECAME ALEX!!!!!!! And I feel when Locke was going into the jungle, simultaneously as Ben flushed that toilet in the ground calling Smokey…he went to the cabin to discuss matters with Jacob and Christian. ALSO, need to rewatch Season 3 when Smokey scans Juliet and her reactions and some episodes after. Something happened.
I know this seems crazy. But, HELLO! We’re watching LOST!  Also, HOW DOES THE WHOLE WORLD know how to get on this island now?! For something that seems so secret, so many people are coming back on.  Dummies.

Okay, it was great writing, but I have SO MUCH work to do in the morning and finish my METS game too from tonight. See ya next week. I saw the new episode name…REWATCH EMPIRE STRIKES BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!

NAMASTE!

Great blog! I must say I am starting to agree with your logic on the final theory... It makes sense. I do definitely think that the same thing that shape shifts into Vincent, shape shifted into Alex... and possibly Locke too. It does answer why Locke was not around when Alex was... So much to think about! I also think Ellie was banished a while ago from the island and is hence the "outsider" Ben was talking about when he wished Charles bon voyage.

Yeah! As we are coming to the end of the season, and show...tons of theories are finally being answered, but let's not forget the beginning of it all.

It seems the Others don't like having leaders and it's easy to banish...Ellie is gone, i think we can agree, so she would be the outsider in my eyes.
Can't wait for next week!

this episode has my mind reeling with discoveries and new theories... I love yours about Vincent. It's absolutely plausible. I'm going to sit and recap the episode in my brain and I'll return to comment on them... like i.e. when Sun asks Ben about the picture with Jack, Kate and Hurley and Ben has "no clue" about how that happened. I'm still contemplating whether he was lying or actually being truthful. After all, he was on the island 1977 and came across all of our Losties but also had his memory wiped out. Annnd, if what happens already happened, did Eloise and Ben know they had to get all of our Losties together and back on the island for all of these events to unfold in 1977? Did Ben know and expect for them to go back in time and he would stay in the present? (by the way, my theory on why Sun didn't go back to 1977 during the flash is because she was already on the island back in 1977, maybe Marvin Candle's baby.) And as for Ben and Locke, because the tables have turned, I believe Ben will now be our central character to focus on. Anyway, I've been left with a lot of questions after this episode. I'll come back a little later.
:)

BEN LIES! For sure, right?! So that picture, he's lying. Kind of goes back to the discussion that Miles and Hurley are having last week.

All the time travel and events are meant to mess with our heads. After the next episode or two, i will update the timeline in the FACTS we know of, if the "what happened, happened" stays true. See ya in a bit after you rewatch.

Great ideas, once again. Absurd and far fetched one week, are not the next..LOST has a way of turning it all around...and around. Loved that Penny isn't dead! DOG WILL HUNT! love it..saw them live a thousand years ago with Richard Alpert at the Pharoh Pavillion. Oh, and smokey was way over done...but I'd go on that ride.

The "Dog Will Hunt" on "Jerry Was a Race Car Driver" is an audio sample from "Texas Chainsaw II".

Agreed. It was Jerry Was a Race Car Driver. Tommy the Cat may have been what you were thinking when you typed that.

Great blog, Bri. But I can't see someone hacking up the title of a Les Claypool song. I'm a long-time reader, but you prompted me to create a profile just to correct this.

awesome blog!!! great to have back, i was lost without you!

i just have to say, i'm loving all the eygiptian mythology!!!

anubis is who's in the hieroglyphic -- he is the god of the dead - he guided/protected the souls of the dead through the underworld, to where they would be judged. it is also said he could foresee a person's destiny - by being the "announcer" of death...and that is everything that happened to ben! WOW!!!

I believe the statue is Tawaret, from behind, it looks nothing like Anubis. I believe it's Tawaret's temple and the other egyptian mythology gods and goddesses fit into all of this. A really cool theory which comes from the egyptian myths is that for 360 days a year, no child can be born but for only 5 days, they can be. Here is how the egyptian gods break down.

Seth (Set)- The god of desert, storms, darkness and necessary chaos. He was born as a second son to Geb and Nut, grandchildren of the ancient Egyptian god Ra.

Nut - the Sky Goddess. The sky is Nut's body, arching from horizon to horizon.

Geb - The Earth God. Geb is the Earth, lying beneath Nut.

Ra – Ancient Egyptian Sun God, bringer of light, and thus the upholder of Ma'at. Ra traveled in the sun boat & defended against the monsters of the underworld, including Apep. He was joined on this daily journey by a crew of many gods, including Seth (Set).

Richard Alpert’s initials = RA, maybe one of the many coincidences on this show?

Ma'at- order/truth.

Apep- The deification of darkness and chaos, and thus opponent of light Ma'at. An enormous serpent who tried to stop the sun boat's journey every night by consuming it. Some even said that he stretched 16 yards in length and had a head made of flint. It was thought that his terrifying roar would cause the underworld to rumble. In his battles, Apep was thought to use a magical gaze to hypnotise Ra and his entourage. It was said that occasionally Apep got the upper hand; this damage to order caused thunderstorms and earthquakes.

Nut was married to the King of the Gods, Ra, but she was in love with Geb. When Ra found out, he was angry and said that Nut could not give birth to any children during the 360 days of the year.

Nut was unhappy and asked the God of Wisdom, Thoth, to help. At this time, the Moon was as bright as the Sun. Thoth got some light from the Moon, so now the Moon gets bigger and smaller each month. With this light, Thoth made five new days, so now the year is 365 days long.

Nut gave birth to her five children, on these five days. When Osiris, the oldest, was born, a loud voice said "The lord of all the earth is born." Seth, his brother, was born hating Osiris.

Osiris- The god of the Afterlife. Brother and husband of Isis, Horus being his posthumously begotten son. Isis re-assembled Osiris' corpse and embalmed him. As the archetypal mummy, Osiris reigned over the Afterworld as judge of the dead.

Anubis- A jackal-headed god associated with mummification and the afterlife, he protected the dead and took them to the afterlife. Anubis was the son of Osiris, the god of the underworld, and Nephthys, Seth's sister and wife.

Isis- The Goddess of motherhood and fertility. She was worshipped as the ideal mother and wife, patron of nature and magic; friend of slaves, sinners, artisans, the downtrodden, as well as listening to the prayers of the wealthy, maidens, aristocrats and rulers.

Horus- The sky god, was told by his mother, Isis, to protect the people of Egypt from Set. Since Horus (represented as a falcon) was said to be the sky, he was considered to also contain the sun and moon; the sun was his right eye (light) and the moon his left (dark). The Eye of Horus became an important Egyptian symbol of power & renewal. Horus was also said to be a war god and a hunter's god.

I really missed your blog last week! Don't ever leave us again!! :-)

Will have to think about your final theory awhile, but it makes sense. I couldn't imagine what could possibly be in that crate. I wonder what they're doing with it. That whole crate thing just came out of left field and then was...gone. I do agree that Alex was definitely not Alex. Locke seems like himself, but maybe that's what's weird -- actually dying and then acting like you're the same easygoing guy you always were when you're resurrected. (If it really IS Locke, I at least want to hear about what death is like!) A shape-shifter being at work could explain a lot.

It does seem like an awful lot of people are coming and going to and from the Island. (And yet it isn't common knowledge that the place exists? It got me to wondering whether when your stint as a Dharma "workman" is over, they take you in the sub back to the same time you left, tell you the project's lost its funding and the trip is cancelled, and leave you wondering if you've gone insane and hallucinated your whole Island experience.
Breathe a word of it, and you end up in Santa Rosa!)

I've also wondered about the number of people in "present" time who are hearing the truth about 815 for the first time -- like Cassidy and Grandma Littleton. It used to be SO important that the O6 maintain their b.s. story, but now they're just telling everybody. Cassidy will probably keep her mouth shut, but I could imagine Grandma making a public fuss about her daughter being alive and Oceanic not doing anything about it. Hmmmmm....

Great post!! :)

I'm starting to lean toward your two Ben's theory. I'm sure I heard Alpert say that Ben wouldn't remember anything when he took him to the temple...yet Ben seemed to know everything that happened when he went back to the temple. Either that or Ben has absorbed all knowledge of the island and its inhabitants and therefore can screw with people how ever he wants to. Ben might have god like abilities and is jealous that Locke may be thee special one. I hope Locke is truly special though. After all the aggravation from hearing so many times how "special" Locke is it would be upsetting to find out he's like Michael or Charlie who did their deed and that's the end of them. That last comment about Locke was in regards to your Final Theory......which is a definite possibility, especially on this island.
