Hello there, we're leaving Savannah, Georgia listening to Sinatra on the radio in
the blaring heat. History is everywhere on this American holiday weekend. Last night=we listened to Lincoln's Gettysburg address, and Kate Hepburn playing the Aaron Copeland Lincoln piece. Now "Young At Heart" is playing, how true!!!!! What great lyrics, all the self help books can't conquer this simply wonderful feeling of happy
expectation.

On the Road

Now Mel Torme is scatting about Sweet Georgia Brown's big feet! So neat. I met some great kids last night in South Carolina, I'd never been there before, what a treat. Alligators, too. And Edwin McCain is stupendous, and nice, I feel specially lucky to be on his stage.

There are allot of rebels out here, I love the rebels, its high time for the
thinkers whose thoughts are creating a disturbance in the stagnant  pool of power bloated muck monsters. Washington, Wall Street, I'd trade you all for a Georgia peach in a hot, southern second.

Now its Peggy Lee, oh please! The folks who like to be called what they have always been called-the folks who live on the hill.

I'll see some of you tonight, Sophie
Christiana

Sorry I missed you at the House of Blues in Orlando. Was very busy at Club Firestone working with merch. Look forward to seeing you in the future.

Sophie, you are clearly enjoying some great historical structures that play a great role in the establishment and story of our great republic, not to mention lots of older music, and certainly you would enjoy a sweet Georgia peach...Get around the South some more, you'll enjoy Alabama watermelons, Mississippi okra, Arkansas tomatoes, Missouri apples, agh, you know the whole story behind the diverse produces of each region and state, but experiencing them firsthand is truly brilliant.  I should know, I had some work assignments in Indiana and Kentucky myself last year, rode through some rolling bluegrass-covered Kentucky hillsides, observed the confluence of the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers whilst riding through three states in the span of a song, and got to explore a German-themed community, the manager of the local HD store (hint: lumber, windows, plants, electrical cords) even remarked on some of my numbers appearing very Teutonic - a link to the great sense of German ancestral pride, there is a bank there called "German American Bank"...

Sophie, your blog is a refreshing drink of cold water...or Mountain Dew (TM)...or Mello Yello (TM) (CocaCola's answer to the former, which is fairly common in the South)...for a really tough fortnight in which we have seen five major pop culture icons pass away (Mr McMahon, Ms Fawcett, Mr Jackson, Mr Mays, and Mr Malden)...your blog is a bright light in an otherwise dark environment...

Happy Independence Day, Sophie.
