Hi! In honor of Valentine's Day, I've just uploaded 3 piano pieces from a demo of "Romance Suite" I did some years ago: "Romance" (the ending); "Anticipation"; and the feisty "Spat!"
"Romance Suite" is a series of pieces that follow, musically, the life of a couple, from just before they meet ("Anticipation") to meeting, dating, falling in love ("Romance"), an argument ("Spat!"), their engagement, wedding, their first child, the busy years of parenthood, growing apart, and then reaffirming their love for one another. Most of the music is written, and hopefully I'll record this album in 2009.
"Anticipation" is the opening piece of "Romance Suite", and it's about the expectation or hope or feeling-that-something-really-special-is-about-to-happen.
"Romance" - well, what more can I say? But our lovers have fallen quite in love with one another.
Who doesn't have a spat at one time or another? When listening to "Spat!", you an almost hear the couple arguing back and forth. It gets almost comical, as most spats or arguments seem when they're over. (Not that I'd know anything about that.....smile)
