Dear friends and fans from near and far,
After some downtime this spring and summer, I wanted to shout HELLO and let you know what's going on in my world and hope to hear some replies about what's going on in yours! I do love hearing from you . . . doesn't matter if we have ever met or not
~IN THE NEWS~
Last spring, the members of The Shelly Phelps Band decided (with utmost love and affection) to dismantle. When bands "break-up" there tends to be an assumption that there is bad blood, but our reasons were more practical than dramatic. For five years, it was my honor and my pleasure to write, perform, and record alongside Rob Vollmar, Warren Roach, and Erol Coulter. Their musicianship and friendship enriched my life and I treasure the music that we made and the time we spent making it.
~ON THE STAGE~
On Saturday, November 8 at 3:30 pm, I'll perform a short, 30-minute set at "Chicks with Picks" . . . . that's the musical portion of the 5th Annual "Girlie Show", described by The Oklahoma Gazette as "an edgy showcase of female creativity". This all-female art show takes place November 7 and 8 at Farmers Public Market at 311 S. Klein, Oklahoma City , OK (map). Saturday is shopping day with live music from Noon to 5:00 p.m. Saturday tickets are only $5 at the door. If you are interested in attending the grand opening on Friday night, check out ticket prices and more info at www.thegirlieshow.net. And in case any of you guys are wondering . . . the event is "dude-friendly" so don't be shy.
On stage with me will be three talented dudes: John Randolph on acoustic guitar, Mike McGeehe on stand-up, electric bass and Jerry Griffin on various percussion instruments, bells and whistles. Those in attendance will notice a new stylistic direction in my music. There will be a new version my original song, "Smoke and Perfume", a debut of my original song, "Amargosa" . . . and we'll pay homage to Concrete Blonde and Leonard Cohen with a couple of cover tunes.

~IN VIRTUAL REALITY~
So, you can't come to my performances because you live in another state or another country . . . no more excuses! I stream several live concerts per week in virtual clubs, pubs, theatres, art galleries, and "open-air" parks . . . attended by people from all over the world. Sound bizarre? It is. Second Life is a virtual world where anything is possible, a place where all forms of creativity and art come together. Much like the real world, it has a dark side and a light side and live music is only a portion of what one can expect. It's not for everyone . . . but aren't you intrigued? Investigate at www.secondlife.com. It's free to join but there are some technical requirements. If you join, you can find me by searching for "Euterpe Queller". (Yes, I chose the mythological Muse of Music to represent me in virtual reality) Feel free to email me with questions!!!

Wishing I could find the words to express my gratitude for your continued support. I can only say that as long as you keep listening, I'll keep writing, recording, and performing. Thank you.
