"Burning Sun" is my little licensing workhorse. A few years ago it appeared in an episode of the TV show "Felicity" (WB), and last year (or was it the year before) it landed in the opening sequence of the last episode of "The Black Donnellys" (NBC) before that show got cancelled.
I found out Friday, via my esteemed Los Angeles music publishers, that the song has now also landed in an episode of "Everwood" (The CW/ABC Family). I don't think this show is on the air anymore (yeah, I don't really watch TV), but as they issue seasons on DVD they often change the background music from an expensive national act to a less expensive independent act like myself. (But the money is still nice.) I believe this also applies to re-runs. I don't know which episode it was in but i'll try to find out.
As I'm still recording my next disc "All Star Heart", the timing is great. Money is only as good as what you use it for, and I like the freedom of funding my own projects and not having to negotiate with anyone about the content.
