Hi
everyone!
Happy Indonesian Independence
day!!
Thank you all for keeping in
touch and coming to see our shows when you're in bali. Your support means the
world to us
Saharadja had a couple of
quite months at the beginning of this year due to the Siztas recording we were
working on, but since the completion of that album, things have picked up again
and Saharadja is once again booming! We've been super dooper busy and loving
every minute of it!
We’ve been touring Java quite
a lot lately. In July we performed in Semarang for the Estu Resto anniversary. We have a great fan base in Semarang who follow us to all of our gigs over there so our concerts in Semarang are always packed
out. If you are a member of facebook, please become a fan of Saharadja (www.facebook.com/saharadja) so you
can see all of our tour photos. They are also on our Myspace page.
We also performed in Yogyakarta on the 2nd August for the
Rendezvoices festival in Kaliurang. The festival was set up in an old volcano
so it was just a stunning location. This tour was particularly fun because we
were traveling in a bigger group than usual – 19 people. Saharadja, plus crew,
plus Saharadja family members. I was very spoilt because my Dad and sister flew
over to Bali to surprise me for my birthday
which was on the 31st July. They then followed us to Yogyakarta for the festival. So it was a very memorable
birthday

We’ve been playing in Hu’u
once a month on Friday nights which has been getting busier each month leading
up to the high season. Last Friday was the most packed we’ve ever seen Hu’u
which made our concert in the gardens even more special. It was a lovely
evening under the stars.
And just yesterday we
performed for Sanur Village Festival. This is the 3rd time we’ve
played for this festival as the closing act. Each year the festival gets
better, and I must say that I was surprised with the size of the crowd
yesterday. There were definitely over a thousand people there. The festival is
set up alongside the beach, and this year they had a food festival, yoga
classes, a kite festival (so the sky was covered with the most AMAZING kites-
it was a real sight!!), water sport competitions, bike riding, culinary
challenges, beach games…. The list goes on! So the energy was wild which made
it an absolute pleasure for us to play. I’ve just received some amazing photos
from this performance which I will also put up onto our myspace page.
We’re also now on twitter.
You can follow us by going to www.twitter.com/saharadja
and by doing so, we can update you with tour dates, gig locations, last minute
schedule changes etc.
So we’ve been having a great
time. I must say that I truly feel so lucky to be a part of this amazing group
of musicians. It's been seven years since we first started playing together and
it gets more and more magical with each performance. I feel such a huge force
on stage with these guys behind me that sometimes it just overwhelms me. I feel
so lucky to be able to do this for a living and I know the rest of the band
feel the same because we often talk about it. We wouldn't be able to live our
dream like we are now if we didn't have people who listen to our music- so now
we thank you all. Thank you for making this possible.
Warmest regards
Sally Jo
