So...I'm sitting here with product (new music) that is just waiting for the funds to be replicated into a thousand CDs so CD Baby can get a single copy just to upload a lower quality version on their site for me to sell. The next thing I know, myspace hooks up with Snocap and musicians have the option of creating a storefront on our page.
I've done enough research on the subject to put me to sleep. So much that I'm back where I started. People want music immediately. I'm that way. When I hear a song I like, I look for the download. I still buy CDs now and then. But I do most of my shopping online.
Anyway...I'm sure most know what I mean.
My question is - do I just bite the bullet and go with the convenience of snocap here on myspace or do I hold out for the distribution on iTunes through CD Baby (whenever I get CDs made)?
I hear conflicting reviews - some complain that snocap takes more off the top than most other music downloading services. Some say they "own" the music that gets uploaded. (is that true?) Others see the extra fee as a convenience fee and say snocap has been great.
I'm at a loss here. What's the best way to give people what they want when they want it? (you know I'm talking about music, right?)
Thoughts?
thanks. peace.
