Current mood:  okay
This is the first blog I'm typing from my own fancy pc! Jonathan grew tired of me always being on his, so he picked this up for me today. My old G3 blue/white tower and OS9 weren't taking me where I wanted to be on the interwebz, so I was always on his computer, or waiting for him to get off of it so I could use it. It's been over 6 years of this, I suppose he's got room to get sick of it

So here I am, I've got some Dell in front of me that I know next to nothing about. It was $80 on Craigslist and the dock is blue & green. Probably sounds pretty funny to you people out there who have always been on a PC, but here I am a noob.

My first computer experience was probably an old Apple II back in the early 80's, then onto the first family computer we had running on DOS sometime in maybe the early 90's. The next step was my webTV back in '98, to which I moved onto my G3 tower. And here I am learning something totally new. Give me a little time and I may figure this thing out!

So far I have managed to bookmark MySpace

You are finally becoming a normal person. First the switch to daytime work and nighttime sleep and now from Mac to PC. I knew it would happen eventually.

LOL, well congrats on getting your own computer.
Do you know how old it is & what the specs are on it? How much hard drive space, memory, etc do you have?

* Hint, go to your CONTROL PANEL, then SYSTEM. (or just put this: Control Panel..System
in your folder 'address' bar) You should be able to get the specs there.
For example, mine says:

HP Pavilion DV6000
AMD Turion 64 X2 mobile technology TL56 1.
80GHz
Memory (RAM) 2.
00 GB

You might also be able to see the same info if you double click on "COMPUTER" & it would be at the bottom of the window.

If that works, if you click once on the C drive, it should tell you both how much free space you have left, and what your total hard drive space is.

For your sake, I hope you're not on Windows Vista. It really sucks & has a mind of its own.
:)

My first use on a computer was the old Apple IIe's they had in school. I think my first time using a computer was around 5th grade... I took a computer course during the summer. My first actual computer of my own was a MAC (a 6116 Performa, I believe) that I got my freshman year (1994/95). I have no problem with MACs in general -- they're good computers, but they're HELLA expensive for what you get. Half the computer for twice the price of a PC.

Anyway, hope you have fun w/your new toy
