AKA Eboogie, Miss what it Do,and here comes truble
hmmm well what do I think, well as my mother would say, no person's mouth is a hymn manual, so people will always be inclined to be dishonest, especially if they feel they will get an advantage ..... I also think Mr. Ecko should come rescue me and run away with me to the Caymen Islands.... the chances of people being honest when it comes to competing, and this happening are probably one in the same, but we can always pray and put it in the Lords hand...... everbodys entitled to their opinion..... people in glass houses shouldn't throw baseballs....?? I dont know, no one is honest at all times......We all lie right???

Its a shame to know that this ball could actually go into the hall of fame or somewhere that Barry Bonds can be recognized as the home run king. Last I knew Pete Rose was banned from the hall of fame for something he did as a coach(not a player) and then lying about it. Well its obvious to me that this record was set while bonds was on roids...want proof look at that big head..Anyways, I would like to see the ball shoved where the man in the video said but since thats not going to happen then it needs an asterisk to tarnish the ball just like bonds tarnished baseball.

I am at least pleased that the votes were not to bestow it. I was pressing for it to be banished because I truly have nothing but negative things to say about Barry, he is a very mean person who is extremely self centered and does not think about fans - and I am hoping that now that the Giants have released him that NO ONE will want him, but I am sure since he is considered a money machine, someone will. It is sad that the steroid filled players win. I am at least happy that the ball will have an asterisk and be, in effect, destroyed, before sending it to Cooperstown. While banishing it would be great, I think the effect that human beings had on voting the fate of this ball will forever live there. Marc, this was a great idea.

Why an asterik? Bonds only has been accusted of allegedly using steroids.... It has never been proven that he used steroids.

I agree with you Jonathan. It should just GO to the Hall of Fame with NO ASTERIK! Barry never tested for anything illegal. Besides, that has nothing to do with eye and hand cordination for mhim to hit that ball. I am a long time Giants fan at 72 years young.

Terry - don't you realize that Bonds has been tested more than any other player. Get some facts - and make up your own mind - don't let the media or Marc Ecko tell you what to think.

Donating the ball to the Hall is admirable. Good job. Leaving it up to jaded people who are fed by jaded media in a jaded society as to whether or not you disfigure the ball...WHAT A PILE OF S**T! Gee...I always thought that a person is innocent until proven guilty. You must be in cahoots with Fox News! And, am I the only one who thinks that it's odd that Congress is focused on professional athletes who may/may not use steriods when, just perhaps, they should be making sure that at least the CHILDREN of this country have health insurance?! Regardless of what anyone says or thinks...that ball is still home run 756, and nothing will change that. An amazing feat by a ballplayer who has been walked so many times in his career, that if you made all the walks consecutive at bats, he would have been walked for TWO ENTIRE SEASONS, EVERY SINGLE TIME HE CAME UP TO BAT!! Imagine how many more homers he would have if just one out of four of those walks were pitches...with or without steriods. Isn't it also odd that no one wants to take Mark MacGuire's record away, or any number of other GREAT MLB players? That's just like this society. Make someone the scapegoat. And, while we're at it...now that you have influence with the HALL; how about a poll to get amnesty for Mr. Rose...hasn't he paid his dues long enough?

Marc - I think this only proves that you have 750K and nothing better to do with it. You got how many votes, 10 Million - and everybody got 1 vote, right? This was not America voting , this was the ECKO online community -- these are not baseball fans.
Look at the blogs on here you have people ranting about the evil Barry - who have never been to a game, who don't understand the real question here - they are not baseball fans - they are just the masses - they like to pile on - incapable of thinking for themselves.
Come on Marc, you knew the results before you even had the site up? You appeared on MTV and Today to promoted the site - how about ESPN, Baseball this Week. Did you consider what real fans might want?
Now that you are the self-proclaimed righter of baseball wrongs - why don't you have people vote on the Pete Rose - Hall of Fame issue. Hey, if America wants Pete in then he should be in there ....Right.
Hey, be sure to let me know when you put up your VOTEECKO for president site. Maybe you could get yourself elected.
In summary I think you have done some good things in the past and you should be proud of those - however I don't think this is one of those.

i am very disappointed with your little act of public representation, to think that this is in anyway what the baseball public thinks is crazy. sir, you are an idiot. to me baseball is special. you cant convict one person and make them the scapegoat. steriods is but one of the problems in not only baseball but all sports worldwide. go after the problem as a whole, not one person. and until this person is proven guilty, leave him alone. and while your at, why not address another problem. the way salaries have become out of control to the point, the average joe and family can not afford to attend a sporting event. when i grew up as a kid, we would go to several games each year, and some years had season tickets. bring the players and owners to their knees and roll back the salaries. players should be paid on performance, a standardized scheldule for all players and at the end of the year, your salary is computed, if your hurt, you make a minimum, based on length of the year completed, plus your performance year to date. that would really do the sport some good. if you call yourself a fan of baseball, someone who really cares, do the right thing, bring good to all. all this little act has brought is attention to you and given the negative people fuel to continue with thier negative remarks.....for this your an idiot, i shall make it a point to never purchase anything connected with you or your companies in the future. prove me wrong about you and do something positive, chuck mercer

wrong, you did nothing positive....you merely fan the flames for the negative minded naysayers.. we not do something positive? steriods in but one of the problems in not only baseball but many. can you fix all of them, no you cant, only the players and owners can control themselves. until this person is proven guilty, leave him alone........why not do something positive like address the out of control salaries players receive?? players should be paid on performance basis, based on a standardized format for all, at the end of the year, if your hurt, you get your performance year to date, plus a minimum. pass those savings back to the average joe and family so they can afford to go to games again. who can afford season tickets, let alone to go to several games a year?? prove me wrong and step up and fix the problem, dont just agitate people. until then, you sir, are an idiot. i shall not purchase any products from you or your companies, like i said, prove me wrong.......chuck mercer

dude, you're a fuckin' punk. I can't believe I supported your brand back in the day. You want to make money off hip hop but you want to play up the most racialized story in baseball this year? Of course, clothing millionaire like you would want to believe this sort of marketplace democracy to think that you or your brand still has some sort of pop culture relevance. please... I bet you'll leave this up thinking 'oh, I'm open minded, and this kid can say what he wants' and that's a good move because in the end, you have the power and money... if you take it down, well, then that just proves the bitch that your are.. go read upski's 'bomb the suburbs'
that asterisk- white ppl who make money off black culture will still support mainstream white media if push comes to shove in the most racialized story in baseball.. yeah, I guess it's cool since bonds is a millionaire? how about this? Marc Ecko sold out his consumer base, and is struggling to maintain his pop culture relevance by defaming a successful black icon.
Yo you would be a yankee fan...

hello mr. democratic,
i mean democratic in the way that you took a VOTE for our friend barry's ball. i find it funny how you would like to stay "democratic" and "PC", although you are incouraging speculation and relative guilt when no individual party has been proven guilty of anything EVER. way to go, my friend. you really should have thought about such an investment before you made such a fool of yourself. i am not going to sit back and say barry did or did not do anything illegal, because I DO NOT KNOW, and neither do you. so, if you feel good messing with history, on the accord of a bunch of fans who did not hang in ANY clubhouse, but buy your logo, good for you. frankly, mr. ecko, i am ashamed. send that ball to cooperstown, we will see what headlines you get afterwards.
sincerely,
not impressed

I think what you are doing is an insult to Black people
Since the debate about Barry Bonds is pretty much split along racial lines, why would you throw yourself in the middle of it? I don't know your racial views are and don't really care either. All I know is that you are the vehicle for people that might be racist to get their one-sided opinions on the front page. Where was the cry when Big Mac was smashing them out of the park? He wasn't very likeable either, so race could have been an issue.
Listen Marc, Black people have spent millions of dollars buying your clothing and I think diminishing a Black mans accomplishments will definitely hurt your standing in our community.

This has got to be the most expensive publicity stunt in history!
A person is innocent until proven guilty whether or not public opinion agrees. You have just symbolically stripped a person of that right.
Your name use to be synonymous with freedom of expression and speech, or were those publicity stunts too.

....r u kidding me? last i checked ecko represented counter-culture of the nyc-philly-dc triangle... as for all this 'kill whitey' shit, do you realize how ignorant that sounds? shit... ecko was the unofficial label of the late 90's rave scene all over america. u had the outcast counter-culture kids of tulsa-fucking-ok and bumfuck, west tx traveling 5, 6 hrs to get a rhino logo t-shirt, so they could where it with pride at the next party. why? because of what it represented. judging from your 'judging' statement i think you have marc confused with that tommy h. guy... and if innercity urban youth (yes, they are socio-economically BLAACK) are attracted to a certain
style
, pattern or logo, then what the hells the big deal? i think i speak for most when i say i'm happy that you know you'll never buy an ecko product as you put it. i wouldn't want anyone confusing me for being an ignorant (and prob suburban silver spoon fed) racist just cuz they met one (you) wearing an ecko shirt...

I feel you should sell the ball to Gilbert Arenas like he said in his blog on NBA.com. I feel this is a part of history your both right about that but the one thing he said that makes you completely wrong about what you're trying to do is you didn't make a big deal about Mark McGwire or Sammy Sosa so why make a big deal about Berry Bonds there are no asterisk on their legacy and proof was given so who gives you the right to destroy this man's legacy with no proof. The founding fathers gave us the right to a fair trial and you're trying to give a verdict all by yourself, that's unconstitutional. You want to brand a ball because he was using what drug exactly, the defintion of Creatine is A nitrogenous ORGANIC acid, that is found in the MUSCLE TISSUE OF VERTEBRATES mainly in the form of phosphocreatine and supplies energy for muscle contraction. I may a little off the complete break down of the defintion but organic means natural so where is the drug. If I started to tell the whole world that your clothes were made in sweat shop that employeed little kids in Indonesia it could start alot of protest and boycotts to your products, but I would have to prove it to completely destroy you. So I ask have you ever personally seen Berry Bonds take steroids? And if you have to have pictures or videos to prove it, if not you're just blowing spoke out of your a$$ that sits under your nose and above you chin.

I think you should be boycotted, and I'm gonna start the cry in my community. Bonds was never proven in a court of law of a wrong doing, just the court of public opinion.
You made a lot of money with the help of the African American Hip Hop community, and I'm calling for that same community to boycott all of your products!!!! Including G Unit and the like, I am working with a local radio station in Los Angeles, and the outcry has just begun.
I'm sure you don't care, because most business folks say the only bad publicity is no publicity. Well at least the voice of the true Hip Hop community will be heard.
By the way, Gilbert Arenas is a part of the effort right now, I'm happy to say.
Peace, and may you get branded yourself with a hot ass iron.

I don't think it's fair of you to be the one to decide what happens to history. That should be left up to Major League Baseball and the hall of fame. It's kind of unfair of you to deface a piece of history to try prove a point. Most people aren't properly educated on the baseball/steroids issues, and just see Barry Bonds as this recluse who they have been told they should hate by most sports writers. And no, it's not democratic. Because 2 of the 3 options you provided were to either deface or destroy the ball, and they were choices created by you. Obviously the American have proven they can't handle voting on anything worthwhile(Take a look at the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections).
Give the ball to the hall of fame, let them decide it's fate.

By the way, how about all of the pitchers who were on steroids that Bonds was up against? Why don't we just brand every ball then, even the ones that pitchers threw for no-hitters? In fact, why don't we just erase the last 20 years of baseball to please you because you feel he's a "cheater". If the pitchers he faced were on steroids too, isn't that still playing on the same level, even if he were guilty of steroid use? Things to think about Ecko, things to think about.

I'm all for branding that ball. Has it been done yet?? Also, I really think that a standard, six-pointed asterisk[*] would be much more appropriate than the five-pointer that was pictured on the site. The five pointer very much resembles a five-pointed star or pentagram, an ancient pagan symbol of protection.

I think you should put an asterisk on Barry Bonds! haha. He doesn't deserve to be recognized as the homerun king. For the people that say everyone cheats...I don't think Hank Aaron did. And for those who say he never tested positive for steroids...what are you stupid...just look at the guy's then and now pictures and tell me that it ain't true! Besides where are all the quarterly test test results to disprove it! If it looks like a duck, well you know... If Barry passes a lie detector test, then I might start believing until then I choose to believe he's a fake home run king. I have no doubt he is an extremely talented athlete but an unfair advantage definitely pushed him over the top.

To even have a vote on this is absurd. No historical artifact should be defaced. It should be kept in the same condition that it was in when it was used in the game. It didn't have an asterisk on it when Bonds hit it,so it doesn't need one now. Put a placard next to it and give your own biased opinion of it, but, leave the artifact in it's original state. It doesn't matter what the majority of the people voted. The fact is that people did vote for the ball to be left alone. That means that there are still a lot of people who will visit the HOF and disagree with the asterisk. By defacing this historical artifact with an asterisk, you are speaking for all the fans, and I am one of those fans who disagree with you. Let the people who visit the HOF make up their own minds about the record and have their own opinions. 75% of the people who voted probably have never been to the HOF and probably will never go. I don't need them speaking for me. And I certainly don't want Marc Ecko to deface a piece of baseball history to boost his own inflated ego.

besides, everyone is doing steriods these days. it just so happends that very few get caught compared to the so-called guilty. I dont agree with the practice of using such a drug. but this is american baseball. not the fuckin olympics. now i wouldnt spend that much money on the ball if i had it. but its whatever. and for those saying that the votes dont count because they're not all "american" vote, Get Real.
