No one thinks abot it because they are so distracted by the other factors of thier life. It is like when someone tries to make you feel differet about something when you know that you cando better in a certain situation. Action and people talking more about it is wha will make a change for the better.

Racism still exists.  I think a lot of people confuse the terms predjudice and racism.  They're separate terms.  Racism is prejudice to the Nth degree.  Everyone is prejudice about or towards something.  Not everyone is racist.  We can have this debate about whether black people can be racist or not.  I don't believe so simply because by definition, black people have not tried to prevent anyone from life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  Just because our president has brown skin doesn't mean racist sentiment is gone.  Why are people up in arms about him speaking to the nation's children about them being serious about their education?  When Bill Clinton was in office during the Lewinsky scandal, there was so much talk about the president being the moral leader of the country(which I'm not a firm believer of).  If that is so, then isn't what President Obama is trying to do is motivate the children of this country to be the best they can?  Isn't that the responsibilty of our moral leader? Obviously many a parent has dropped the ball in this instance so somebody has to do it.  I think that is just ridiculous that people are complaining about him speaking to the youth of this country about their education.  That instance is not racist however you have to ask yourself what the issue is?  A bunch of old white people are going to have to die before racism ends.  I can talk about this all day and night, but I'll stop here.

.."A person should not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."....There is racism now and there will be in the future, as long as men live and breath....."Stick and stones will break my bones, but NAMES will never hurt me."....Racism is done by whites, blacks, browns, yellows, reds, pink with purple polka dots!....It is high time, since we do have a BLACK president and we look at him for the color of his skin, we learn that there is no white race, black race, brown race, yellow race. There is only the Human Race! What have you done today to propigate this concept or are you still waiting for someone to give you something? "It is up to each an every American to stand vigalant against racism, communism, socialism, being subservient to others, being slaves!!!! The issues of today do not reach only black people, they affect everyone. You'll have to pardon me, but when i hear such as this, i get passionate. Thanks for bringing this up. Hugs and take care!..

I find this interesting. I believe that there are whites that have tried to help blacks. Because we couldn't have made it this far without someone who is not black believing that we were in the same boat. But does racism exist? Most definitely it does. But the main place that it exists we don't talk about. Within ourselves. We need to get out of our own way and try to be as objective as possible. We are going backwards with some of the things that we are doing. Things that Dr. King and others like him fought against.

Ms. Rita I would love to know how racism impacts you as a woman and a person.

Well whites have the right to fear being erased from the planet through the genes of the original ppl. It's us that is the problem because we refuse to accept the truth about them and act accordingly which will keep us safe from their fearful madness. That tree in the garden well that's us the origanl ppl and that fruit well that's the woman's womb. They were given orders not to take from the tree of knowledge nor eat the fruit for a reason and that is genetic destruction of their race. Read Genesis (genes).....please don't hate them but learn about them....Peace!!!!

I think the first thing black people have to do is redefine what racism is in reference to our relationship to other races. The issue of racism is not about individuals within a particular groups attitude towards another group.  This has always been about power and the maintaining of that power by a particular group.

In his book "..Portraits of White Racism..", by David T. Wellman. He gives a very accurate definition of racism. I quote .."But instead of assuming that racism manifest itself as prejudice, I explore another possibility: that racist beliefs are culturally sanctioned, rational responses to struggles over scarce resources; that they are sentiments which, regardless of intentions, defend the advantages that whites gain from the presence of blacks in America. Such beliefs are a pervasive phenomenon which can be found throughout the class structure...

You hear that a rationale response. What does that mean black people. It means that no matter how while you social may get along with other groups. They may treat you nice and do not call you dirty names. But the power relationship between the two groups never changes.

Our survival on this earth black people will not depend on the stupid notion of ending racism. This is a waste of time. Because that is not the problem. We have not suffered the way we haved because of the overt racism praticed by whites and other groups towards us.
White supremacy e.g. racism is merely a rationale used to justify behavior and to legitimize dominance.
Our suffering has taken place because a group of people who intentions are to exploit and use the natural resources as well as the human resources of another group for its own interest.
So to end this black people we have to start to invest more time into adequately redifining these words that they have given to us. Because they are used to manipulate our consciousness to keep us confused..The African Consciousness Series!!!... So that we cant develop the concepts we need to re-establish our power.

Fear is the the full for anger and people that are racist are fearful of what they dont understand cause of the differents in cultures instead of trying to understand they become ingnorant  and just assume that everyone of that culture is the same but that truly not the case.
