Since the last request blog has gotten unwieldy and hard to follow with well over 100 comments, here's a new one.

We're currently putting together our schedule for the next few months, so if there's something you'd like to see now's the time to let us know.

We don't have access to 35mm prints of every bizarre, sick, twisted, sleazy movie ever made, but feel free to request a fave and we'll see if we can find it in any of the private collections we have access to. Your best bet is to request something more generalized, by genre or director or star. Do you want more Italian zombie films, or more sexy cheerleaders? More violent bikers, or gut-munching cannibals? Laughable, so-bad-it's-good dreck, or well made obscurities that will blow your mind? More blaxploitation, or maybe a few dubbed kung fu flicks for a change?

Any and all feedback would be appreciated (we certainly don't do this for the money!) and who knows, maybe we'll screen one of your requests.

I'd love to see William Lustig's "Maniac" on the big screen. Other than that, it'd be fun to see some Italian horror (Bava, Argento, et al).

Thanks for all the great programming!

Maybe we'll call Bill and see about doing another night with him. We screened MANIAC COP 2 and VIGILANTE a couple of years ago, about time we bring him back with MANIAC.

As for Italian stuff, may have some Fulci coming up very soon. Stay tuned.

CANNIBAL APOCALYPSE.

I know you probably already showed it before, but if not, it's a must!

CANNIBAL APOCALYPSE. I keep forgetting to look into that one.

I'll see about trying to get it on the schedule in the next few months.

See below for the MANIAC reply.

As for Argento, our friends who run the recently started New Beverly Midnights series will be screening DEEP RED on Saturday, September 15th, at midnight. Check it out, they have a MySpace page on our top friends list.

Maniac is a great idea....how about some Lumberto Bava filcks "Demons" anyone? I"ve never seen Dawn of the Dead in the theaters that would be nice. As for movie genres; gory and inspiring, with a decent fear factor or more bad ass kung fu.

Keep up the good work guys! My friends and I look forward to this event even if we aren't able to make it every month.

We'll see about getting Bill Lustig back again. We already screened his MANIAC COP 2 and VIGILANTE a couple of years ago, but MANIAC needs to be shown at some point.

And where were you last year? We screened DEMONS along with MAUSOLEUM to a sold-out audience last August. It'll be a couple of years before we get back to that one again.

DAWN OF THE DEAD is a bit of a problem to get hold of, and well out of our price range at this point.

Thanks for the support!

Would need to locate a print of that, don't have one available to us at the moment. That is one ridiculous film, though. I think I still have it on VHS somewhere.

"You Better Watch Out" (1980, a.k.a. "Christmas Evil") would be a fine feature for the holiday season in December.

I've never even seen that myself (time to start hitting some dusty old video stores) and have no clue where to even look for a print...but I'll ask around and keep an eye out for it.

I don't know if you screened these or if you ever will! But personally, I would LOVE to see Ilsa, She-Wolf of the SS and I Spit On Your Grave!! I would die if I knew these were playing at your theatre!

Those are two tough ones, I SPIT due to rights and ILSA due to a lack of playable 35mm prints. ILSA director Don Edmonds is a good friend and would come down, and we'd call Dyanne Thorne to see if she can make it to LA (or we'll just make it one of our Vegas events)...just need to locate a print. That's one of the top 70's exploitation titles and also one of the most rare 35mm prints to locate at this point. There weren't that many and they were all played over and over until they nearly disintegrated.

Maybe we'll bring that back in a couple of years as part of a "greatest hits" package. Still too many titles we haven't screened yet, and maybe one of the new titles will be your next "best night" of your life!

A Doris Wishman double-feature, perhaps? Either of the Chesty Morgan movies paired with "Let Me Die a Woman" would be a blast.

Another vote for "Maniac", perhaps doubled up with "The Burning" or "The Prowler".

Thanks for the great programming and for keeping the grindhouse going!

Would love to do a night of 70's TV stuff, especially BAD RONALD and DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK. Those are hard to come by, though. Plus, we can only run 35mm at the theater right now, and I'm pretty sure most of the old TV titles were run in 16mm at the stations so those are the prints that would be floating around. But that would be a dream night.

Brian, the new Cinefamily / Silent Movie Theater will be screening a 16mm print of Bad Ronald at some point very soon. Also, the New Bev has their 16mm projector now in place and should have it up & running smoothly before their Martin Scorsese shorts program at the end of the month. A night of '70s horror TV could be GREAT.

Working on a possible Hong Kong night right now, for sometime right after the new year (hopefully). Just a bit worried that our often drunk audience won't be seeing clearly enough to read the subtitles!

Anyone else interested in some classic 80's-90's Hong Kong films?

Going out on a limb, but how about George Romero's "lost" films "Jack's Wife" and "There's Always Vanilla". Now that would be an interesting double bill.

Now for some fun stuff..
"The Paralex View"
"All the President's Men"

3d Kung Fu Spectacular
"Dynasty" and "Magnificent Bodyguard"

More 3D
"The Maze" and "The Glass Web""

Bad movie extravaganza:
The Astro Zombies and The Undertaker and his Pals

Don't have I EAT YOUR SKIN, but we do have a print of I DRINK YOUR BLOOD that we've run a couple of times (with the director and cast members in attendance). Unfortunately, like most of the 35mm prints out there it's a bit cut and missing some of the more extreme stuff that's found in the amazing DVD release.

Are people still interested in seeing this one again, even considering it's cut?

The onyl Bigfoot film we have access to right now is Bill Rebane's THE LEGEND OF BIGFOOT. Not sure if and when we'll run this, though. Not quite up to the quality and fun factor of his THE GIANT SPIDER INVASION. Now that one would be a blast to screen.
