Current mood:  amused

Christmas is coming and we are excited about seeing our family in California.  We have been told that son Jeff was to be Santa Claus at school last week. We are anxious to hear how his (first) gig as the bearded one went. Does that make me the mother of Santa Claus?  Wow, that feels strange. Should I be out training reindeer, knitting stockings, making mounds of fruitcake???? Just what does Santa Claus' mother do?? Any ideas?

It was always my understanding that Mrs. Claus did most of the heavy-lifting in the reindeer-training, stockings-knitting, fruitcake-baking arena(s).  The Venerated Mother Claus assumed more of the "your red suit is dirty" "did you brush your teeth after all those cookies and milk" "what's that crap on the back of your neck" "your brother Morton would never go out looking like that!" role.
