Hey folks,
Hope you are well. Southeast Engine has been taking a break since returning from our tour in the spring supporting
From the Forest to the Sea.
However, the band has stayed busy: Leo has been hard at work on his
burgeoning label Moon Jaw Records, Billy took up old-time fiddle, Adam
took up clawhammer banjo, and Jesse sang on stage with no other than
the great Robert Pollard of Guided by Voices. Many a song has been
written in this off-time as well in order to begin work on the next
chapter of the life of Southeast Engine.
Some cool developments recently are that the band is featured in the August issue of
Paste Magazine. Southeast Engine
occupies the entire first page of a piece called "The Best of What's
Next". The song "Black Gold" from the latest
record –
From the Forest to the Sea – is also included on the sampler. View the article online
here.
Also, the webzine
Into the Hill has deemed
From the Forest to the Sea the number one album of the year thus far! See their
year list and the wonderful
review they wrote. The band couldn't be more pleased with the kind words that have been attributed to our album.
Also, the band will make its live return in October on Halloween weekend with shows in Columbus, Ohio and Athens, Ohio.
In
the meantime, Adam Remnant plays solo this coming Thursday, Sept. 3 in
Athens, Ohio @ Casa Nueva opening for Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic
Zeros, who recently had a 2 page spread in Rolling Stone. The show is
FREE!
Adam along with brother Jesse Remnant will also play on Saturday, Sept. 5 in Dayton, Ohio @ Canal Street Tavern.
Jesse Remnant and the Trainwrecks headline the show.
That's it for now. Check our websites for more details and news.

Moon Jaw Records
where you can learn more about the label, and scroll down to view a

Traitor" in Austin, Texas at this year's SXSW.
Sincerely,
Southeast Engine
