Aight ya'll... I played a BMI showcase @ Smith's Olde Bar in Atlanta. It was a great show, despite the never ending flight of stairs that we had to use for unloading. No worries... just burning calories. Anyway, I got a kick out of this press clip that someone sent me. Check it out:
Zachary Kale This feature man, with full backing band right in step, was the first to go on upstairs at Smith's, and when he did, the crowds followed for good reason. Kale, looking like the cool substitute teacher that stole your girlfriend in high school, did it all. Starting as the guitared frontman, Kale popped over to the keys for a bit and even crooned like a soulful southerner when the time came. Midway though it became obvious why BMI signed the fellow as he switched gears from country-tinged pop/rock to steamy rhythm and blues ballads, including a noble crack at Alicia Keys. He was the jack of all trades and master of the room.
HA! HA! I love the "substitute teacher" thing. I don't even know what that means, but it makes me sound way cooler than I am. If anyone comes across anything that good, send it my way. If you ask me, this dude really knows what he's talking about :)
