Holy crap-- I've gotta say-- stepping down was perhaps the best idea ever. Since I stepped down from being the publisher the faucets have been turned on full blast. I've been cranking out Savage Dragon comics like there's no tomorrow (and if there IS no tomorrow--that would totally suck, by the way--you'd miss out on all kinds of Savage Dragon comics).

I'm pencilling Savage Dragon 143 right now-- and 138 isn't even out yet (but it will be--on Wednesday). Savage Dragon 139 is at the printer and Tom Orzechowski just get me some lettered pages from 140. I'll be inking those shortly.

In any case--life is good. This is what I wanted to do. This was why I got into this nutty business in the first place.

Loving life right now!

Congrats on getting your groove back, Stella.

All kidding aside, it's great to hear. I really admire your ability to find such incredible passion to create after the years under your belt professionally. With so many of your contemporaries running out of steam so quickly, it's inspiring to hear that it IS possible to stick at it and care just as much today as X years ago.
Especially about the same characters!

Looking forward to seeing this passion on the page.

It's a wonderful thing ain't it? Getting that creative groove back and doing the things you love while not having to deal with anything else.

I think it's got to be the best feeling in the world for any artist. Glad to have you back in the zone.

143? That's amazing! You may eventually get to your goal of having issues in the can before you have to solicit the books, yay!
