For anyone interested I'm gonna rant have a little rant about the venue we played in on friday, If your from dublin, and into the heavier side of music, then by all means you'll know fibbers. And this is the venue where two very indie bands decided to join Rifle fire rifle on a Friday night.

When we first arrived with our gear, the first band to arrive we stood out like sore thumbs. Leather waist coats being more acceptable then a white polo shirt. Slayer was playing, then some metallica, then some scream based metal band, heavy on the double kick which i had no idea who it was - even considering myself to have a wide taste in music and to have friends who listen to metal. After a while the more aggressive or more metal looking metallers left, and we were treated to a bit of the who and the kinks over the PA, which i relished. mmmmm, can't beat the who. Apparently you can because the crowd were seriously displeased at the who - on a cd - for three minutes. how can you be in a state of mind where you can boo a cd at a three minute rock song.

At this point, i knew that neither us nor the neon stars would be that well recieved. when it came to sound check i thought there was gonna be fights, people were really displeased, i got booed while singing alone to soundcheck my mike. really, come on.

As gav from the neon's put it, if there was gonna be a ruckus, there would be bits of topman flying everywhere.

All in all the actual gig was uneventful, those in scarfs or skinny jeans, enjoyed the gig, and anyone in leather stared daggers, but there was enough of a crowd for the neon stars and us for there not to be bottles thrown at the stage, so it was alright.

I was a bit surprised at how many of our friends and that wouldn't come out because it was fibbers, and because of fibbers reputation, but our next gig is in the hub, so i think people will be more than happy to venture in there.

All in all i think this was probably a pointless writing exercise, i should have just said what joe neon said. its like a whore with a bad back. we're not going down easy.

Oh that sucks, sorry you had a bad time there. I like the place, cheap beer, good (and varied) jukebox.. but yeah, it must be a hard venue to play some nights.

Fact is though, no matter what, there is NEVER any excuse to boo (or worse) a band. Hope you have a better time next week. *hugs*
