Well, not a van, it was a Volvo. But my main motif this weekend seemed to be falling over at various times, resulting at first in being covered in nettle stings (after falling into a nettlebush) and then a knackered knee (after falling down a hill a bit, twice) All this You've Been Framed hilarity happened while I was at the Truck Festival with my brother. I had a pretty good time though (as I always do) I overdid it on the first night and spent the next day staggering around feeling grouchy I didn't think much of the music on either, there were a few notably good acts on (George Pringle, Hreda, Thomas Truax, Anthony Elvin and some others) but generally it all seemed a bit wank, especially the headlining bands. To be fair there may have been a bunch of good bands that I entirely missed, I guess the problem with having a festival of mostly unknowns is it's difficult to know who might be playing while you're buying an overpriced egg bap I did like the venue itself though, it was quite a nice size for a festival. Small but there felt like there was lots of stuff going on. I took a few photos but then managed to temporarily break my camera (maybe at the same time as I permanently broke my headphones) I've got some quite exciting music related things coming up in the rest of the year. Los Campesinos in Lancaster in a couple of weeks, and then at the end of October I'm going to the Netherlands to hang out with Dean. We're going to see Frog Eyes and then go to some anglophile festival thing in Amsterdam called London Calling. Should be a laugh. Then early November I'm going up to Manchester to see Deerhunter, and in December I'm going to ATP again. I'm pondering trying to fit in seeing Animal Collective, Battles and Holy Fuck round those too, but I doubt I can afford it I'm getting made redundant at the end of November so really I should be trying to save up whatever money I can I guess :(
