After being informed [TUESDAY, NOV. 20, 2007] by one of my Affiliates about an interview of one of our DC Hip Hop artist having an interview on Internationally known ALLHIPHOP.com and then reading the interview. This is my response and my direct email to that artist.

All that know Me know that I am truthful, honest and speak directly from the Heart and have always been a controversial figure. But this particular subject may rub some people the wrong way. But I know 98% will surely agree with me.

Read the entire email I sent out and let me know if You agree with me 100% on the subject matter at hand.  Becuz with Me - I know I am right and everyone I know and the people who know of Me will say: Skinny You are RIGHT and i support You.

=============

It has come to my attention thru a forwarded message that You had done an interview with ALLHIPHOP.COM - B4 I begin, :et me congratulate you on getting that BREEDING GROUND feature.

But I must say I don't respect it not one bit. Due to the quotes (below) that I was forwarded from a DC Hip Hop Affiliate about you stating that: DC Hip Hop has just started developing with YOU and WALE.

FALSE sir!!!

And the part where you state that other than You and Wale, it's just a GoGo town. LOL, now that was real funny. Like ya'll two are the only ones who are rapping and ever did something from this town. Like Rap-Hip Hop starts with you two.

FALSE!!!!

And then knowing how THEY treat our region (like a consumers market), No self-respecting true DC native (born and raised) would have went onto a nationally known Hip Hop site and aired some untrue bullshit like that. And then you say that it is Just You and Wale and the rest are all GANGSTER Rappers. Well what about Priest Da Nomad, Storm The Unpredictable, Cy Young and all of the dozens of other ERICO's and STATE OF THE UNION Alumni. If you were truely from the City and representing the right way - You'd know never to say any arrogant bullshit like that out of your mouth. That was wrong and it is not like THEY have never heard anything like that before. You practically saying the same shit millions of other artists have said before. So how really different are You Tabi.

I don't respect that at all. And I am sure every Hip Hop and Rap artist and supporter from the DMV region will like to see and know what You said in this Interview. Becuz if they knew what you said in your interview (like I know) - I'm sure You won't get the love or support you worked so hard to get to this point.

And to state that every other artist besides You and Wale just spit Gangster Rap is ridiculous. DC don't have gangs (We Crew out here in DC). So Gangster Rap is a false term to describe someone who choses to rap about the streets more in the DC Rap scene.

I feel you about being Different. But to get to the point where you are and then turn around and slap the whole region with the bullshit arrogant and selfish interview is testiment to how you gonna carry it once or If you do get to a major level. It is evident that our DMV region hopes and dreams of getting a real representative on the Hip Hop national scene, one who will look to pull other Rap and Hip Hop artists with him or her is not with YOU (like the ATLiens did).

SAD then to say it - But I do believe my PEOPLE, Affiliates and Followers will surely be amazed at this Interview. I'll Inform them that we still gonna need to Grind it out and look to support someone else (like the Committee) or someone who will make it on the scene. Someone who won't turn their back and slap Us in the face with Interviews such as this and air False dirty laundry about Us on the National scene. Especially someone not knowing the True DMV Hip Hop history.

I just thought I'd hit you up and Let you know MY displeasure and non-support of your interview and view of the DC scene (which is so much more huger than You you think) and that I must fulfill my duty and past this information Onto others.

AllHipHop.com: What's the D.C. Hip-Hop scene like?

Tabi Bonney: It's actually just developing in D.C.; I would say with me and Wale, other than that it's a go-go oriented city. You got other Hip-Hop artists in D.C. but for the most of there stuff is Gangsta rap. So, that's why I say I've been able to be at the fore front of the scene because it's not like anything else, its completely different. And I say the same with Wale too, he's not rapping about being in a gang. That's why I think we're able to shine.

I truly feel ya on that one.Hip hop itself has lost direction, we have to blame that on those that market themselves to it.Speaking as one of the best (and i am speaking from others' perspectives) I have watched many, and I mean many true artist (Moe Betta, Circle Boyz, Da Committe, Champ Parker and many, many others) pull their weight, struggled and did all they could to represent DC. And speaking to these cats on a personal level, we all have the same beleifs that there should be an uprising for us. But to, not only down-grade us as just being the "go-go oriented city"or most of our stuff is Gangsta Rap, that is a major slap in the face. Ok yea, it's cool to run around and talk about you from DC and that you are an artist, but what are you representing for real? Of all the artist I have ever talked to, I have never heard of such talk that we strictly GO-Go. And how the fuck did hip hop just start in DC when we have had groups like SECTION 8 MOB (Who was signed to Tommy Boy), EU and others who have been out loooong before some of ya'll were born? One thing that is stopping us from prospering is Egos. Too many damn Egos mixed with arrogance. I am calling out all artist that want something more than to hear themselves on radio, TV, or the internet and make themselves look good.We all have a story and it needs to be heard; that this is a gutter ass city and we tryna come up just like everyone else and that we should be helpin each other at it. Not ""I am the shit" and we "started hip hop in DC". I ain't looking for any beefs with anyone and I am too blunt to look for friends; what's right is right, and you know the rest. You wanna rep where you from, rep it the right way, and get your facts right. In the words of Pac: hip hop is slowly becomin"Nothin but niggas and bitches rockin beats for the fame". Skinny get at me.......

BIGG FACE the 16 STAR GENERAL

WELL ONE MANS THOUGHTS CAN NOT SHAPE A MOVEMENT, NOR STOP THE MOMENTUM OF WHAT WAS BOUND TO HAPPEN, PREDESTINED!
NOW WITH THAT SAID TABI IS ONE OF MY ORGANIZED RHYME BRETHERN, AND FOR HIM TO NOT SHOW LOVE TO THE SECTION 8 MOB, WOULD BE BLASPHEMOUS, BUT HE SPOKE LIKE HE FELT ABOUT WHAT WAS GOING ON!
WE HAD A SHOW AT CLUB LEGENDS A FEW WEEKS AGO, AND HE BLENDED IN WITH THE MASSES, HE RUBBED SHOULDERS WITH PEOPLE THAT COULDN'T GET HIM FURTHER THEN HE IS ALREADY, BUT HE DID IT! FOR THE SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT WE (THE OY BOYS, DRE ALL DAY IN THE PAINT, HYEENA ETHA, DR, VICTIMIZE, RASI KAPRICE, AND MANY MORE, WHO GOT NOTHIN, BUT TO SHOWCASE OUR TALENT!
HE DON'T HAVE NO MAJOR DEAL! SO HE'S LIKE US, HE JUST HAS A HIGHER LEVEL OF EXPOSURE! SO I DON'T CARE ABOUT WHAT HE SAID TRYING TO EXPLOIT HIMSELF, WHAT HE SAID WAS HIS OPINION, AND LIKE ASSHOLE, EVERYBODY HAS ONE!!!! YOU FEEL ME!
NOW YOU KNOW I GOT BIGG LOVE FOR YOU, HIM AS WELL, BUT I REFUSE TO FOCUS OF THE ILLS OF SOMEONES CAREER, WHEN I CAN PUT THAT SAME FOCUS ON ME AND PRISONLIFE RECORDS, SO THAT I COULD FIND AN EQUAL MEDIUM TO VOICE MY OPINION SAYING I DISAGREE!!!!
I LOVE THIS RAP SHIT, AND ALL THAT IT STANDS FOR, SO LETS KEEP IT MOVIN SO WE CAN ALL BE AT THE TOP AND HAVE A HIP HOP SUMMIT IN D.C. TO DISCUSS THE STATE OF HIP-HOP IN D.C.!!!
TRUE LIFE!

Skinny Corleone, don't get distracted. Stay focused. Let everyone else worry about their egos and self-promotional agendas. True artists and music lovers are behind you. Thanks for bringing this interview to light.

Wow!! That's crazy... But I do agree with ol boy above me when he said that dude was just giving his opinion but at the same time I got to feel you as well because that is some foul shit nonetheless.

You see, I'm from the Midwest... Indiana to be exact but I put it down for the whole region not just my city or state and so when I hear about a artist misrepresenting I get offended just like you which is part of the reason why I'm going after a nationally known artist right now but not because he ain't representing correctly but because of his actions towards me as a fan who has been behind him and supported his music from day one. (but you read about that in my blog so I won't go there on yours)

In either case I feel like it is our responsibility as not only fellow artists fighting for a common cause but also as fans of hip hop and music as a whole to air out these bigheaded artists for over stepping they boundries so for that I say do what you got to do!!

Real Talk,
KHAOS

J-CZAR™ COME HOME NEW SINGLE ADD IT!!

I totally agree with you homie. I tried to get a collabo with Wale, but his management team said they wanted like 2,000 dollars. I got that same quote from Kool G Rap. I mean, I get the point of you got to get your money, but he wasn't even hot yet. He got a deal because on the strength of him knowing somebody. I remember Section 8 Mob, Questionmark Assylum. I know that there is some true talent in DC, but we have to stop being arrogant. You know how so many Atlanta people got on, they helped eachother. It was a chain effect. You had Outkast, Goodie Mob, TI, Young Dro, DJ Drama, Young Jeezy, Boyz N The Hood.

We can do that too. I was apart of a DC mixtape a minute ago, but never heard anything about the finished product. I am open to working with anybody. So if your a rapper and you got the fire, hit me up. I may not have a deal, but I am a machine in the studio. I will support your movement homie and The Regiment are all free agents so if your a local label that needs us to do something holla at us........

i been rappin since 98 i make sure i know what was the competition around the area before i did this music thing. i didnt get seriously into it until 2001 but me and the homie Adversary met like 2 yrs before we have always been real HIP HOP Music Artist supporters so we made music to that type of genre. Growing up in this area i always used to listen to Storm The Unpredictable and later admire the PG MC by the name of Oddisee for respecting the HIP HOP Movement. I Personally feel that he doesnt know what he is saying or maybe he is begging for publicity attention...

Wow!!! Im speechless. I wasnt expecting the comments to be so blatant. I been on the DC scene for years, used to throw shows in the city years ago and I knew many heads that werent doing gangsta rap. Not saying gangsta rap is wack but done wrong it IS wack but that goes for every kind of rap. With that being said I can say for certain there were artists in DC doing straight up abstract and back pack rap alongside the gang bangas. Ever heard of MUDKIDS??? Unforgiven??? Twisted Mystics??? Some of the realist and straight hip hop shit ever recorded.
