Most people know the endless nightmare that I live with daily, and while I wouldn't wish it upon an enemy, one positive side effect is that in the worst of times your friends show their true colors.
There's a lot of reasons why I loved that fucked up little friend of ours we call Gidget, but none of them meant as much to me as being there in my darkest hours. He was not alone, but he was in the minority, and not afraid to be so. He could often be so shy and intimidated, but when his true colors emerged they were brave and beautiful.
For those unaware:
On September 28, 2006, my ex-wife Pauley Perrette launched a national media campaign against me,
using her role on a television show to publicize false rape charges filed by Angela Garber,
who Ms. Perrette paid to make those claims.
The next day, on September 29, 2006, my friend Gidget Gein posted his public support
in a comment on my myspace page.
As the evidence becomes public,
and Ms. Perrette refuses to answer questions in court and from reporters,
the truth is becoming very apparent to all.
Most people are now very openly supportive of me, and I am grateful.
But I will never forget the ones who stood up and voiced their support
immediately.The ones like Gidget Gein.
Gidget, you will be missed. You already are.
May you rest in the peace you sought in life.
