Um, OK, so my song "Thank You For Leaving Me Behind" is apparently nominated for Best Folk/Acoustic Song at the 2007 Los Angeles Music Awards. This is so funny to me. The "awards show" is in LA on November 29th, so I don't think I'll be there. A) That sounds like the sort of thing that would give me heart palpitations or, at the very least, sweaty palms. B) I just got settled here in New York City for a bit. But, actually, I guess this is kinda cool. So, yes, you-know-who-you-are-but-shall-remain-nameless, THANK YOU for leaving me behind 'cause now neat stuff like this happens instead of sad stuff like what I was singin about. Also, I would just like to say that I wouldn't play this song for anyone for 6 months because I thought it was so bad. Good thing I saved that piece of paper, as I would've just as soon forgotten the whole thing if it was up to me. Luckily, I have great friends who like to listen to me sing and force me to do it often. Speaking of great friends, Palmer asked me just today if I would put "Thank You for Leaving Me Behind" up on here. I was kinda waiting to press my little EP and have all the new songs unveiled then, but in light of this happy development, I'll see about getting it up here. Yay for nominations...maybe Psychic Tom isn't completely wrong...please let him be right about some of that other stuff...
