LEONARD COHEN LIVE IN MANCHESTER

Manchester International Festival is pleased to announce Leonard Cohen live in Manchester for four very special nights, 17 - 20 June 2008.

These intimate shows at Manchester Opera House are Leonard Cohen’s first live dates in the UK for more than fifteen years. The 1900-capacity Opera House will be the only theatre venue on the UK leg of his world tour, which also includes Glastonbury Festival.

The four dates are a trailblazer event ahead of the 2009 Manchester International Festival. Alex Poots, Festival Director said:

’Leonard Cohen is one of the greatest songwriters of all time and it’s an honour that one year out from the 2009 Festival we can welcome him to Manchester for his first UK appearance in more than a decade. Like Gorillaz Demon Days Live at the Opera House in 2005, these Festival trailblazers are about premiering unique events in Manchester.’
