Well today we relaxed in Manhattan and watched a soccer match in a Irish pub. New York public transportation is, well, long. A ride from Staten Island to Brooklyn is a nice short 2.5 hour ride, filled with unmentionable bodily fluids, large rodents, and smelly people.
After we got back from Manhattan, we started to see the cars roll in... and were we in for a shock. The cars are even more ridiculous than I could ever describe. Our first sample was a team from the UK who had purchased an early 90s Olds off craigslist a week ago and sawzalled the roof off to open up the back seats, El Camino style. Painted on the hood was the UK union jack, in high gloss house paint. From the now open back seat was a rather large UK flag We were chastised for using true automotive paint. "Its all in the rollers you choose." When asked what the teams contingency plan on rain is, the response "We will sit in the front seats" which still has a roof. Pictures to follow in the next blog.
Incredible. Like I said, pictures to follow.
