What an unexpected surprise.  I saw the 2004, Wave that Flag, tour and while I enjoyed it, I felt that I would never get to experience that old, Dead feeling again;  It just was not the same.  And while it may be because of more time passing (I don't believe this), this show at Vegoose with Trey was not only Philnomenal, but was all that I hoped the Dead would continue to sound like, post Jerry!  I have to say that Trey "fills the bill" much more than any other guitar player that has been put to the "replace Jerry" test to date.

I can't wait to be able to download this show.

Oh yes, Mickey Hart was incredible as well, and once again, I felt that his band sounded more like the Dead than the Dead currently do.  The lead singer....well, she just about blew the house down!  More of her, please!!!

Dont ever ever ever compare Trey to Jerry. Trey wishes he had 1/100th of the soul and passion that Jerry has. Fuck all these comparisons. There will only be one Grateful Dead and ther last show was July 9, 1995. Everything since then is individual members doing there best to carry on. Long live THE GRATEFUL DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

Agree with the above comments from Thomas....this was the best "Dead" show I've seen since 1995...nothing against all the great guitarists that have sat in with Phil over the years, be they Kimock, Warren Haynes, Jimmy Herring, or others...but the difference in this show was that they didn't try and play within the framework of Jerry, and do their best to come as close as possible (which of course is impossible)...but rather, they really created the jam in their own way...Jerry's guitar always told the story of Dead tunes and shows...Trey's guitar really took over and led them into unchartered territory.

Incredible show; I was absolutely blown away...far better than I thought it was going to be...
