Who Gives Kudos:

07 Dec 07 Friday

Current mood:  creative
I've received some questions as to when the next album will be out. Well, I ain't no song factory so have some patience. hahaha! But seriously,

2007 has been a year of emotional growth for me. Well, everyone knows what comes before that....crazy head times! I kept writing through it all and feel I have a collection of songs that will work together as one piece. I'm not on a label and I don't put a timeline on these things anymore. I really worked myself over in 2006 and realized that I was doing that for no reason. As a result, a good chunk of 2007 was spent hiding from my music. This made me very crazy.

Anyway, I had my early-mid-life-crisis and I decided to leave my position at work. I worked out a plan to get back into school and was ready to become a total nerd. As soon as all of those pieces were in place and I embraced the idea of it and TOLD EVERYONE, someone up above (or down below) opened some doors for me in the artistic aspect of my life, including creativity.

I'm not going to bore you with lessons I've learned about my life. Self-help books are as exciting to me as business journals. Haha.

Doors that opened- I found a grey kitten that was starving and running toward the street. She now has a round belly and gets 1/4 of our bed every night. I can't tell you how much she livened me up. Also, through various technical tragedies I have ended up doing some of the recording at home. This has reignited my passion for sound engineering, songwriting, working. AND, some of the record was recorded live with the Dittmars. we were rehearsing for a gig that actually got canceled but we all agreed the live aspect was very warm indeed. This has brought a vibe to the songs that has never lived in one of my recordings before. I also crossed paths with an amazing songwriter and musician Paula Jean Brown. She's added bass/guitar and hopefully there will be vocals b/c you have to hear this woman sing. She got to tour with Sparklehorse playing bass. Once she records her album, she will be known for that. ALSO, my friend Chelsea Beauchamp has been in Austin for a year. She's a songwriter turned film maker. Guess what we are going to join forces and do.....

All of this has unfolded since Fall began. I freaking love the fall.

Time, be lit. That's the name of the new album. It will likely be spring 2008. Quit your dang whining.

Raedar!!!!

I miss you, Chrissy and Chelsea!!! I miss being creative, artistically inclined activists together!!! 2007 has been a crazy year for all of us and we are looking to bigger and better things for our family and friends. We look forward to touring with you in 2008. Love the new song with such warm layering. Your music is like a hand-made afghan blanket on a cold winter's day.

Hug yourself and Chrissy from me, Raj and the boys. They will be excited to meet the new kitten and we will try to get to Austin soon.

Peace & Blessings,
kim
