Current mood: anxious
Hello all,
I know that no one does written blogs anymore, but our cinematography skills are not yet up to "video blogging" par, so for the time being this will have to suffice.
First order of business - for about the past eight months or so, we have been out on the road and the tours have been nothing short of amazing. We have once again seen the beauty of the country firsthand and begun many new friendships. For the remainder of the year, we will be in Portland continuing to write new music, save for a few west coast dates, which brings me to the second order of business...
In the coming weeks we will be playing a few shows in Oregon and California with The Spill Canvas, Ivoryline, In:aviate, A Thorn For Every Heart, and A Cursive Memory, all of whom we have played with this year and all of whom we are excited to see again. We have also made plans to record the song "Sunshine," which will be made available online for free download. Also, be on the lookout for a long overdue myspace revamp.
A few thoughts on tomorrow's elections. While I don't feel it's necessary to endorse either presidential candidate, I urge you to vote not only in your own interest, but in the interest of everyone around you. This is a potential turning point for our country and we have an opportunity to initiate a change for the better. Also, if you are an Oregon voter, I ask that you please vote NO on ballot measure 58, which aims to severely limit ESL programs in elementary and high schools and to cut all existing bilingual programs. As someone who has studied the Spanish language for a number of years, I can attest that it is impossible to learn a language in only a few, and whatever your feelings may be on immigration, I hope you can agree that everyone has the right to an education.
We're excited for you all to hear the new music.
Dan
