First, I want to assure everyone that I haven't been ignoring you. I'll eventually make sure I comment on the kind words everyone had to say about my adventures with Ike. Unfortunately, my adventures aren't over. I thought I was almost back to normal. I had power and was back in my condo. Sure, some work had to be done on the building, but that didn't seem like any biggie. Wrong. Without warning, the city taped an official notice on everyone's door proclaiming that the building couldn't be inhabited while repairs were being made. We had 36 hours to vacate. And, oh, we shouldn't expect to return for at least a month. Sigh. Mass hysteria. Well, no way could I find a place to rent that fast. Besides, there are very few vacancies right now because so many people are out of their homes or still have no power. I had to board my kitty with my local vet. Poor Abby, she doesn't have a clue why she's been shuttled to all the different places and now abandoned for a month. I'm feeling total guilt over this. I'm sleeping on a friend's couch (hey, it's a comfy couch). Some of you know my friend. She's Gerry Bartlett who writes the Real Vampires Have Curves series. She's already taken in another friend with a cat, and Gerry has two dogs. There's nowhere to keep a second cat. Anyway, I won't be on Myspace much until I'm back home. So realize that I'm reading and enjoying your posts, but I won't be having much to say for a while. But all is not doom and gloom. Sparkle is taking me to the mall tomorrow. She says there's nothing like a great shoe sale to perk me right up. We'll see.

Seriously ...bite me.

All of y'all down in Glaveston have my prayers. We, the folks a little further north, had ...well, not a great time, but a decent one. Our sattelite dish (bless it's heart) actually stayed in the yard and we have electricity. I know what you're going through. Hang in there, it'll be over soon. Take Care, Julie

Nina, I am sorry to hear about the delay of being able to get back to normal. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I am sure Abbey will forgive you once all starts to settle down.

I lost my Suzie the 19th. she has always been a healthy cat and very independent she was 13 years old and had a tumor inside her mouth and down her throat. No surgery was not an option. I brought her home and she lies in rest in back yard. Irises and some other flowers will be planted this coming weekend. Sometimes I think I am going nuts cause I think I hear her meow as she did all the way to vet, she so disliked any kind car rides. The first night with her gone I think I felt her jump up on bed, so I told it's okay go ahead and lay down. Maybe I was sleeping. who knows

Anyway. God Bless to you and yours

Oh wow Nina I totally spaced that you live in TX. Sheesh I'm terribly sorry for all the stuff you've had to go through due to that horrible hurricane. I hope that things are starting to get back to normal. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers and hope that you have a happy thanksgiving. Keep in touch and be safe.

Thanks for the sympathy, Michelle. Actually, I'm still not back in my condo. They keep pushing back the date that we can move in. Last week they said that December 24 was the date. Now they're hinting that it might be January. I'm still staying with a friend. I can't believe that I could be out of my home for five months, especially since my particular unit had no damage. I get visitation rights every Sunday. I go and sit in my living room and pretend I'm home for good. Now is that pathetic or what? :)
