First, I want to assure everyone that I haven't been ignoring you. I'll eventually make sure I comment on the kind words everyone had to say about my adventures with Ike. Unfortunately, my adventures aren't over. I thought I was almost back to normal. I had power and was back in my condo. Sure, some work had to be done on the building, but that didn't seem like any biggie. Wrong. Without warning, the city taped an official notice on everyone's door proclaiming that the building couldn't be inhabited while repairs were being made. We had 36 hours to vacate. And, oh, we shouldn't expect to return for at least a month. Sigh. Mass hysteria. Well, no way could I find a place to rent that fast. Besides, there are very few vacancies right now because so many people are out of their homes or still have no power. I had to board my kitty with my local vet. Poor Abby, she doesn't have a clue why she's been shuttled to all the different places and now abandoned for a month. I'm feeling total guilt over this. I'm sleeping on a friend's couch (hey, it's a comfy couch). Some of you know my friend. She's Gerry Bartlett who writes the Real Vampires Have Curves series. She's already taken in another friend with a cat, and Gerry has two dogs. There's nowhere to keep a second cat. Anyway, I won't be on Myspace much until I'm back home. So realize that I'm reading and enjoying your posts, but I won't be having much to say for a while. But all is not doom and gloom. Sparkle is taking me to the mall tomorrow. She says there's nothing like a great shoe sale to perk me right up. We'll see.
