So, I've finally got a minute to write about the weekend.
Let me just say I won't be forgetting this weekend any time soon.
To start, Calabrese played at the Metaphor Cafe right here in Escondido. I was pretty stoked about that. Not only because they one of my favorite bands, and I was getting to see them again, but because they were playing in my shit-hole town! The last time I saw them, I drove all the way up to Ventura for the show. This time was just as awesome, and I get to see them again in two weeks, when they'll be playing with 12 Step Rebels.
This pleases me.
Sunday was the big day. Ink N Iron. I was really bummed out since the girlfriend couldn't go, but I had already promised some friends that they could ride with me, since their ride bailed on 'em.
So I went. I shopped. I rode a mechanical bull. I got oggled by pinup girls. And I was rocked by some badass bands. Brigitte Handley was standing less than a foot directly in front of me while Rezurex was on the stage. I didn't realize it was her until I'd already been staring at her ass for a good five minutes.
Koefte DeVille must've lost his lighter, because he asked to use mine at least 4 times while the Koffin Kats were playing.
I didn't get to see or do everything that there was to do, but I still had fun. I really liked some of the sohps that were there, and walking around the tattoo area. I saw some stuff that I know San would've like. I was especially bummed because the ticket in cost more than I thought it would, and fodd prices were ridiculous, so I didn't have any spare cash. I really would've like to get something.
Oh well. There'll be other chances.
That pretty much wraps up the weekend. I had a really great time, and can't wait for next year.
