Toad Suck....Booger Hollow...just two Arkansas towns I encountered while making my way back from the midwest after 7 weeks, 4 days and 10 hours of being away from home. The time I had in Minnesota was perfect....as I got to have meaningful, lengthy visits with family and friends. I won't thank each and every one of them in this forum....but you know who you are...and please know that you are loved....by me. I thoroughy enjoyed living out of my little 19 ft. Roadtrek which kept me cool and dry (God, it was hot up there) and provided me with a sanctuary in which I could exhale and watch a DVD now and then.
Minneapolis is a very well kept secret in the midwest in terms of lakes, bike paths, and culture. I was privileged to see 1776 at the famous Guthrie Theater with front row seats which enabled me to be spat upon by the actors as they said their lines and sang those wonderful songs making 1776 the musical to end all musicals. I went alone and wallowed in the feeling of enrichment as I sat in one of the best repertory theaters in the entire country.
My time with my mother was the best of all. We celebrated her 87th birthday and she rose to the occasion with aplomb and grace. She has a wonderful new lease on life. Keep up the momentum, Mom!!
As someone that usually abhors routine...I'm happy to be back in the routine of living in Florida and am glad to be within the ranks of my friends, once again. I will resume biking, knitting, reading, attending local live music concerts, eating good food and drinking good wine with them.
I am grateful for: All the new 'friends' I've made on MySpace. As you can see by my numbers....I'm more into quality than quantity. Thank you all for your comments and your private emails.
Enough banal twaddle for one day, don't you think?
Best to all,
Maureen
