Hello this is Jae! We have been selected to represent New Zealand this month as part of the
Music Alliance Pact worldwide simultaneous music blog... collective... initiative... thingy... with lots of other bands from over 30 countries! This all came about thanks to Chris - who is basically the kiwi ambassador of the Music Alliance Pact - and happens to run a wee radio show up there on scenic Waiheke Island + publishes his own (pretty fantastic, I must say) music blog called
Counting The Beat. Hoorah!
Thanks Chris :)
Oh. The chosen track was
Hello Big Sky (Radio909 RMX) taken from our most recent release - the
Destroy Electronica EP - so if you don't have it, then grab this tune if you wanna. You can download it (and any of the other band's MP3s that take your fancy) right here:
http://countingthebeat.blogspot.com/2009/08/music-alliance-pact-august-09.htmlDisclaimer: MySpace has a habit of blocking perfectly healthy links - so you may have to just manually 'Cut & Paste' the link into the browser address bar for it to work.
"Sora Shima are a four-piece instrumental group from Hamilton who
specialise in the kind of start quiet, end apocalyptic epics that you
hear from the likes of Explosions In The Sky or fellow countrymen
Jakob. Hello Big Sky is from their third EP, Destroy Electronica.
You'll find links to free downloads of the previous two releases on
their MySpace. The five tracks on Destroy Electronica see the band
experiment more with the form, adding variety but losing none of the
power."Speaking blogs, we also got a nod on this one awhile back:
