The kids day camp went to 6 Flags as one of their field trips this week. Tori was excited to go since she was originally not going to get to go for the 2nd year. But the switch to the new dance school changed her dance camp to just 1 week -- so she was free! Tori also had the pleasure of having another baby tooth pulled this week -- we hope her last. Why pull it, and 1 or 2 others in the past? She has put her thumb in her mouth so much that her permanent teeth have been pushed back as they come in. That means they end up coming in behind instead of under her baby teeth -- so they don't fall out! I think she has one more baby tooth, and once it comes out we can finally see about the real work of straightening the really messed up permanent teeth.
Meanwhile, I went to Medieval Times for lunch on Friday -- with my work! We had about 20 of us there, along with one seniors group and a bunch of day camp kids groups. Then I came home a little early and took the kids to the pool for some fun in the sun. Then Saturday morning rolled around and I had to dig 2 large holes for Crepe Myrtles. Apparently those get planted in June or July instead of Fall, so I couldn't put them off. It wouldn't be that bad if it weren't for the fact that are yard is 90% rock! Zack helped me with the rocks some, but there's not a lot he could do with the actual digging and rock busting.
For Father's Day I got to sleep in a little before going to a late brunch. Then we did some shopping and picked up the Crepe Myrtles. We then went out to see Night at the Museum, Battle of the Smithsonian, which was really good. Its always fun to hear Zack laugh in the movies -- he really gets into them. I told Jenny I would put the trees in the holes around 8:30 to 9:00 pm -- but when I went out she had already done that herself. So I didn't even have to do that part on Father's Day, although I still wish I didn't have to dig the holes either. Now I'm also realizing that Jenny bought 2 small purple cone flowers that need planting. :(
Finally, just one more week! Next Saturday we pack up and head to Mobile with the kids and Shasta. Then next Sunday, Jenny and I will fly to the Bahamas! We'll have nearly a week of fun and relaxation without the kids -- scuba, dolphins, snorkeling, spa, etc. Then we'll fly back Friday, July 3rd, so that we will be with the family all day on the 4th before coming home on the 5th. See you soon -- although most of you will see more of our kids and big puppy then you'll see of us! :)
