Remixes
For Less Cash is Reverend Benn Schipper’s 2nd album at the
independent german electronica label Privatelektro since he joined in
2003. The title of this album is suggesting some sort of commited
work and contains pieces of all the last years. But Schipper’s
musical output it’s not just committed in a traditional way in
doing a job for compensation. Much more it is a commitmend to the
natural owner of an artwork – a committmend to an artist. Schipper
is always open to expose his work and musical standards in
collaborations. These remixes are not done for cash – they’re
done to proof and manifest the original piece of music in exploring
and wrangling it tone by tone, sound by sound thru Schippers serial
wave modulation approach.
Influenced
by 60’s modern serious music ideas and Schipper’s musical roots
in late 80’s east german punk and experimental electronica. Simply
it is a very calm, ambient scape with evil psycho thrillic glitches,
sometimes nervous noisy beat powered soundtrack of a fictive movie.
These
collection of 10 titles contains remixes of the german straight-edge
band Lebensreform, samples of the swiss label Everest Records and
remixes of a early collaborations with label mate Tilman Schmidt.
Like the rainbow color in the backside of the mostly black/white
style hand stamped copy style cover Reverend Benn Schipper’s work
is showcasing an artificial chameleons nature. The artwork underlines
the ironic and distant post-post-punk attitude. The complete
individual, customized and, handmade 12 Page Booklet comes with 10
colors (CMYK + Lapis Blue, Sun Burst, Cardinal, Chocolate, Jade, Gold
(Glitter) additional equipped with temporarily tattoos and play
money.
