He had several hundred young layers (hens), called 'pullets' and eight or ten roosters, to fertilize the pullets' eggs. Trevor kept records and any rooster that didn't perform went into the soup pot and was replaced. That took an awful lot of his time so he bought a set of tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone so Trevor could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report simply by listening to the bells. The farmer's favorite rooster was Gordon, and a very fine specimen he was too, but on this particular morning Trevor noticed Gordon's bell hadn't rung at all! Trevor went to investigate. The other roosters were chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing. The pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover but to farmer Trevor's amazement, Gordon had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one. Trevor was so proud of Gordon, he entered him into the London Exhibition and Gordon became an overnight sensation among the judges. The Result? The judges not only awarded Gordon the No Bell Piece Prize but they also awarded him the Pulletsurprise as well. Mr.L   Posted by Mr.L’s Tavern on Sunday, October 18, 2009 - 10:30 PM [Reply to this]  Amy ~ (R-Ma)   LMAO "righteous melons" ....     Posted by Amy ~ (R-Ma) on Monday, October 19, 2009 - 11:25 AM [Reply to this]  Ben X is "Boycotting the Liberal MSM!"   Great job Amy!  I heard you mention the copyright czar.  There is a lot more to this than most know.  Our notorious Liberals in State are currently negotiating a new copyright infringement treaty.  They are tight-lipped but there are a lot of rumors are floating.  If only a fraction are true, then it looks like Uncle Sam wants a good look at everyone’s hard drives and peripherals to make sure you don’t have any pirated software or other media.  I know what people are thinking, “How do I hide those "special" pictures of me?????”  HAHAHAHAHA I don’t know exactly how they plan on doing this except that Microsoft and others have been developing this capability for a very long time.  How often have you loaded up a media player or picture viewer and had it begin to scan your drives for related media?  Microsoft has the ability to ensure their programs are all registered and legit.  And, software that you chose not to register?  Who knows?  Let’s be frank!  After the “truth police,” the Executive Branch website that wants you to “rat out” conservative dissenters, the declaration that “right wingers” are radicals by the DHS, and now the open assault on FOX spearheaded by Anita DUMB, why should we trust the politically motivated government with the personal information they find in our computers?
