Hey there- I hope you all had a great summer- I will be posting pictures and videos from Belgium, Sweden, London, Chicago, Boston, etc. We just got into the studio to begin recording our 2nd record. We'll be recording the album in NYC, L.a and Portland over the next few months. I'll be posting some demos in a week or so- I had an incredible time at The Download Festival with Rock 'n Renew and The NRDC.
We are one of the 50 lucky groups to be involved in the launch of Think.com Mtv's version of myspace, but way different- This will all focus on you doing GOOD things while online- learning about social action, and what you can do to help fix up the world around us. If you'd like to be one of the 50 people that i get to invite to be in the launch (the night of the MTV music awards) write to me- jonny@rocknrenew.com
Here is my summer re-cap- August 18 Download Festival, Boston Rock 'n Renew partners with the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) at the Download Festival, an all-day music concert at the Tweeter Center near Boston, MA to kick off a "Ditch the Bag" campaign. Our activation table hosts hundreds of visitors, gives out 350 eco-bags that visitors are able to design themselves, and presents an interactive question-and-answer session with Adam Gardner of the band Guster. Our goals at the festival were to empower the audience and the festival's artists to reduce their environmental impact while at Download, and to raise awareness about the importance of recycling, green products and simple ways to reduce carbon impact. Jonny interviewed Modest Mouse, Guster, Wolfparade, and a few other bands on the topic of Sustainabiliity.
August 31 Q101 The Morning Fix, Chicago Jonny Dubowsky, founder of Rock ' Renew, and lead singer/guitarist in Jonny Lives! spends the morning on one of the top 10 morning rock-radio shows.
