However his third season would be his biggest challenge to date. Crosby was off to another great start when a high ankle sprain caused him to miss 28 games. The Pens hung tough while he was gone, and then reaped the benefits of his return, as Crosby took off in the postseason help the Pens reach the Stanley Cup Finals.
