I shouldn't be here. No, I really shouldn't! I have so much to do. Why is it that we look forward to going away and yet when we return we at once need another holiday? I'll tell you, it's because there is always lots to do and when you've been away you're often playing catch-up. I'm not sure there is such a thing as catch-up. I'm not sure it's possible for me to have a day where there's 'nothing' I could find to do. It doesn't matter if it's at work or at home, it's always the same. You return to all the things you have to do and all the things you didn't get done while you were away.

I have some writings to do. Not exactly 'official' deadlines but lines none the less, invisible, drawn in the sand. I've made promises to work as fast as I can and that I can keep to, although how fast is fast is all relative according to Einstein. I have things to do on my website. I have housework to catch up on. I have things to sort through. I still have many of parents' belongings to made decisions over, things to order, more work to do in the house. So...life as normal then. Sigh. Oh...and Christmas. Yes, as much as I love decorating for Christmas there are times when a magic wand would be nice!

I am happy to report that we had a very nice week away. We went to Stratford upon Avon, otherwise known as the home of Shakespeare. We went to the theatre. We walked in the sun and the rain. We saw butterflies. We poked our heads into the quaint Shakespeare houses, had too many meals out, went shopping, visited Warwick Castle and Batsford Arboretum, all of which I'll tell you about another day, or at least put up some photos.

I'm equally happy to report that we've booked our main holiday for next year. We'll be going to Germany via Belgium but more on that closer to the time. And maybe by then I will have 'caught' up with everything.

a true holiday is not having to do anything for a while.

In that case I never have a holiday. LOL. I don't think writers really do. I tried to relax when away and thought up two more story ideas. I never go away without a notebook.

GOOD MORNING SHARON!!!!! :) :) :)
Ya KNOW, it's all about that being away. KNOW THE FEELING. It's so WONDERFUL to be away, to relax, to enjoy each day in CALMNESS. THEN, YA GOTTA GO HOME. UGGHHHHH. REALITY HITS when you WALK IN THE DOOR. Wouldn't it be absolutely WONDERFUL if we could all just STAY ON HOLIDAY!!!!!!  ")
Just last evening, I got a call from a friend from the beach. He and his wife live on the west coast of Florida for the winters. In the summer they live at my beach. HE CALLED LAST NIGHT. He called, because Tropical Storm Ida was affecting his area of Florida. He saw Jim Cantori on the beach at Pensicola, Florida and it made him think of me, he said. :) :) :) He always joked with me this past summer, because ONE TIME, we were in a Tornado warning and I walked around the whole neighborhood WARNING everyone to BATON down the HATCHES. Ever since that day, he calls me "The Red Headed Jim Cantori" :) :) :) :) :) :) He SAW Jim on the beach on the t.v. last night and he just HAD to call me and ask WHY I wasn't on the beach with JIM. His calling me made me smile ALOT last night in spite of the sadness of Uncle Bob's passing. It also made me miss the calm and peacefulness of the beach. I miss it so. I WANT TO GO BACK RIGHT NOW. So yes, after a LONG EXPLANATION HERE, I AGREE WITH YOU. :) :) :) :) :) We need to make the whole process of HOLIDAY a DAILY BASIS. REVERSE THE WHOLE THING. HOLIDAYS EVERYDAY, and work only a couple days a year. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) HUGSSS TO YOU SHARON, LOTSA LOVE TO YOU and God Bless    Susie :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Next time we're away I'm planning to clear as much as I can before I go. LOL. Yes, back to reality. Ugh. There are some nice things such as I returned to order another Adirondack chair but when it arrives (should be this week) I need to paint both of them. The only thing is I suppose I can then look forward to resting in them with a book maybe? Sx

It sounds a nice break.  And yes, there are always things to catch up with.  We were only away for two days a week ago, and you still come back to more post and more jobs.

I hate the post! I mean the post can bring nice things but usually it brings more horrid things. Even worse than bills is all the post you don't want and never sodding well asked for! Then you're busy pulling out all the pages with your name on and shredding them and hoping against hope when you don't order from some company you've never heard of, they'll get the message and won't send more unwanted mail. Of course, then they just sell your name on to someone else. Grrrr.
