The Groove’ wins Easley’s Battle of the Bands

EASLEY – “The Groove,” a band made up of three 13-year-olds and one 11-year old was declared The City of Easley’s 2009 Champions of The Battle of the Bands.
Four bands competed in the event on Oct. 3 held in downtown Easley on a stage in front of the Doodle Station, but only one would walk away with a prize of $500.
“The winner was decided by the audience voting by ballot,” said Cheryl Bork, DunBurks Premier Events Director of Event Planning.
The members of the band include Marcus King, guitar; Caleb Raines, drums; Javan Fondren, bass and Caleb Fondren, keyboard.
“The Groove” played an array of Blues and Funk music which made them a crowd favorite.
