this is an idea I just had
just open up another window or tab, and load your profile. if your friends are set to random, write about the ones that pop up!
of course, this only works if you have your friends set to random.
here goes:

Zoya (band) - decent sounding psychedelic/hard rock band. kinda stoner rock, kinda just honest straightforward hard rockin. has a sort of spiritual vibe going, I guess maybe you could say it sounds like a better version of godsmack. the song tai chi has sort of a "deep" message, your usual american stoner zen thing going on. talks about waking dreams and stuff like that. don't want to spend all night on this, so that's all I'm gonna listen to. I think they're other songs are heavier than this one. they're from Missouri

Permanent Records - oh, this one is really cool. awesome (relatively) new record store on Chicago Ave near Damen in Chicago. I've seen a couple of really good bands play in this small space, pretty interesting (one of 'em was my friend's band Paper Mice, the other the now defunct Catamount). great selection of vinyl, lots of cds but not overwhelming like Reckless Records. good metal selection, cheap used cds, cool book, dvds, etc. they also run a record label, very cool group of people. one of my bands practices across from this store in a comic book shop.

The Holy Bibles - I'm not sure how much I like this band, and I can't decide if I like the band name or not, at least it's pretty interesting, but lame at the same time. the same for their sound, I can't really decide if I like it, but it's unique. guess that's why I added 'em. wait, now the song is kicking in, it rocks fo sho. it's the song set you on fire. I dig it. a little too much reverb, but not that bad. I wouldn't mind getting a copy of this.

Terry - an old friend of mine I met while working at an ice cream store... he worked there too. Terry is a rock n roll singer in the Quad Cities USA in western IL. he's multi-talented too. plays drums, bass, paints. he likes beer. we should go get a beer next time I'm in the QCA

Shuko nxg - shuko is a very hot ninja x girl from NYC. while I don't actually know her, it probably would be pretty cool to. I want to go to New York.

Makalu - one of my music projects, it consists of me, and my ol' buddy J. he is a photographer now living in the QC (where I'm from, it's weird that he lives there now). anyway, it's a really tripped out prog/psyche instrumental sound. nothing too technical, but it's interesting. has awesome analog Korg keyboards on it, myself on guitar, J on drums. I need to upload some new Makalu songs soon... the graphic has some of my paintings on it.

Doctor Ninja the Cultural Critic - one of my weirder friends on here... he's sort of a counter culture guy, which is pretty cool, and pretty rare these days. the music is pretty whack, but hey, some of my music is pretty whack too. nothing wrong with whackness to me. he's also apparently affiliated with Retard Riot, I'm not sure what that is, but it sounds pretty retarded. I do like the Ronald McDonald Hitler with the spastic colors background for the avatar. I leave this page, with the feeling of "weird".

karmaloop - I sort of feel uncool adding this one, it's some kind of fashion line. I guess I might wear some of this stuff if someone gave it to me... it's all right I guess. I add friends pretty freely most of the time, but I can be picky too. I'm insane. at least I'm getting paid right now, although not to do this that's for sure.

Diesel Theory - pretty cool industrial metal band, on madman Steve Austin of Today is the Day's record label. they're from New Jersey. Vocals sound like a gruffer version of Killing Joke. maybe some Ministry influence going on with the music. yeah, there's gotta be, drum machines. speed metal guitars. kinda catchy, nice. don't have this album yet, wouldn't mind getting it. probably the best band I've been writing about in this here bulletin. well, Holy Bibles is good too, at least they have a drummer.

Subarachnoid Space - oh wait, no, this is the best band on my randomly loaded friends on my myspace page. I really can't recommend listening to this enough, this is what music is supposed to be like. they have a great sound, and the band I play bass in, I sort of wrote a new song the other night that is totally inspired by these experimental progressive space rockers. one of the bands that I still need to see live, that I haven't experienced yet in the live setting. very cool.

I think I'll keep doing this from time to time, there's a lot of cool bands and stuff in my friends section that I forget about. and since I work in a computer lab, I have lots of free time. happy holidays
