Well this lady took it literally, she books her own shows, runs her own label,
designs her own clothes, makes her own videos, records her own vocals, makes
her own flyers, hosts her own parties, promotes herself (and her friends) through
her myspace and facebook, and she finds time to be a stylist and cut hair too..
all while touring the world and partying with the locals almost every night of her life.
This little Fly girl carries the knowledge of someone twice her age...

Along with managing her own acoustic duo Speakershoe to great critical acclaim she has
also toured the UK performing withHexstatic (Ninja Tunes), headlining at The Big Chill Festival,
and then through Europe with thelikes of Aaron Jerome (BBE). In 2007 she was invited by UNESCO
to play at their cultural forum in Monterrey Mexico and received an overwhelmingly positive response from the Monterrey audiences. Sabirajades track for 2008 was World Keeps Spinning produced by Bob Henzellit was playlisted 3 times a day on Radio Nova France all thru June/ July / August.
It got massive support and interest forcing it to be released! Meet the new cool kid on the block -Mestiza"
Born to a Filipino mother, English father and raised with fostered children from places as
diverse as Zimbabwe, Afghanistan and Algeria, you can hear the cross cultural influence
in her music as she fuses soul with jazz, hip-hop beats and Latin percussion , to create a
unique sound with a distinct ‘Mestiza’ vibe.
She encompasses what it means to be a child of the world!!
She is a part of ‘The Latin Dub Sound system’, a UK collective put together by Corin Pennington
(Lewis Parker/Massive Attack/ Rodney P), that includes UK acts such as Million Dan, Rodney P
and Yungun. She also features live with female hip-hop artist Yarah Bravo (Oneslef/Ninja Tune).
She is busy recording her debut album with producers based in the UK and Dubai such as UK
based Colin Emmanuel (Beverley Knight/ Tawiah/ KRS:One/ Mystro) and Paradox, as well as
collaborating with a number of artists and rocking shows along the way.
She has already accumulated a long list of performances at prestigious events all across Europe like Glastonbury festival, Roskilde Festival (Denmark), Splash festival (Germany), Hip Hop Kemp,
Hammersmith Apollo, Jazz café & the legendary KOKO’s.
And she is now coming to Berlin to share her worldwide vibrations with us...

Vibes and Stuff is the name of up and coming Swedish soul sensation.
Her voice reminds you of the old jazz legends, sending shivers down your
spine, yet her street credibilityliesinherbackground as a hip hop dancer.
To be specific, it all started after her dance sessions, when she innocently
placed a tape recorder outside her shower, a place where she would feel
comfortable enough to burst into song. There she ventured outside the box in
search of inspiration in cold cold sweden and found herself immersed in what
was to become her calling. Music!
Where the inspiration never stops flowing for this gentle soulbird.
And if you stand in front of her long enough, she will draw inspiration from you too.
She has an undeniable talent. And we are glad she eventually stepped out the
shower to come to Berlin to bless us @ GOT SOUL?

Amenta’s sound is rich with dreamy melodies and playful jazzy overtones. Her writing is full with life experiences, hopes and longings.
She is influenced by music that touches the soul. Any music that touches that place within, that moves you to love, cry, sing or reflect. One of her greatest influences was the late great Billie Holiday, whom she regards as a generous teacher; however she grew up listening to a wide variety of music anything and everything from Bob Marley to Tchaikovsky, from The Police to Dinah Washington. Her jazzy tone calms the sharp turns, and arresting sounds of her preferred genre, electro-jazz.
Amenta is a name you should watch for, not only for her subtle, sweet and raspy, lilting 40’s/50’s-esque vocals, but also for her excellent choice of producer collaborations which include German producers, fLako, Suff Daddy, Stevo
