Most people have spent considerable time in a doctor’s waiting room. Whether you are sick or are there for a routine visit, it can be boring just waiting for the nurse to call you back.
Me? I tend to take a book to read, or a notebook to jot notes in while I wait. But a large percentage of people don’t pack a novel along. (And I’ve yet to meet an author in a waiting room.)
