Hello everyone, welcome to Valentines Day, the day where you have to be more lovey than all the other days of the year and somehow top your loveyness from the year before. Here's our advice. . .
1. Present her (or him) beauty in simplicity. If you need to attach a bazillion bells and whistles to a gift or evening to make it magical, you probably need to rethink the relationship. - Try a candlelit dinner vs. big expensive restaurant (it's the intimacy that matters) - Try her favorite candy + some surprises instead of a massive box of everything with bows and a teddy bear and a car and a boat and a big bag of money. - Take him/ her to a lookout point... you can't beat the simple romance of holding each other and staring into infinity
DO NOT take this advice as an excuse to be cheap, gentlemen, if your girl likes flowers or a huge teddy bear, do it her way, and then go to the lookout point... it's not about you anyway.
2. Go out on a limb with something artistic. Don't be afraid to be cheesy, you should know what your sweetheart doesn't want (e.g. the plastic rose and that line "I'll love you as long as this plastic rose takes to decompose in a landfill after you throw it away" or whatever.) - Draw him/ her a picture - Write him/ her a song - make a mixtape (please tell me other people still think mix tapes are sweeter than mix cds. . .)
3. Most importantly- ADD THE PERSONAL TOUCH. If you just take her out to dinner and a movie, no matter how sweet the two things were, you probably just did what her last boyfriend did, and she won't remember the difference in a few years. Focus on your strengths and add personal flair. In 15 years, you want your Valentine to remember how you looked into her eyes or how you held her... the stuff that you got her will be pretty easy to forget. (bonus tip- smell nice, the human brain recalls scents better than any other type of sensory memory, if you smell super good, you'll both remember the night for a long time)
You're Welcome, now go to our profile and listen to La Love and tell all your friends how much Soundescape rules and got you action on Valentines.
