ONE MONTH TO LIVE

Week 3 – Leaving a Legacy

Teach us to realize how short our lives are. Then our hearts will become wise.

Psalm 90:12 NIRV

-There are actions of the wise & actions of the fool – it’s wise to obey

“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse (WHY?) because it is built on bedrock. But (Famous Buts) anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”

Matthew 7:24-27 NLT

-Obedience to God’s ways will produce fruitfulness (Galatians 5…look up fruitfulness)

Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.

John 15:4 NLT

Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.

Matthew 7:20 NLT

-Obedience and fruitfulness will leave a legacy

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last.

John 15:16 NLT

For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better. But if I live, I can do more fruitful work for Christ. So I really don’t know which is better.

Philippians 1:21-22 NLT

Obedience à Fruitfulness à LEGACY

BIG [picture]: believe that I am capable of leaving a legacy

What type of legacy will I leave?

Are the things I’m spending my time on legacy-worthy?

When will I get serious about my own legacy?

ME [practical]: turn “someday” into today

Cast your legacy VISION – Pray, seek God, and write down things you

want to accomplish and start heading that way!

Create a FINANCIAL legacy – Don’t live for money…help others.

Commit to a legacy of FAITH – Reach out to others so they know Christ.

GOD [power]: acknowledge God everyday – Who are you acknowledging eachday…the God of self, the God of popular opinion?

So remember this and keep it firmly in mind: The Lord is God both in heaven and on earth, and there is no other.

Deuteronomy 4:39 NLT

The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.

Lamentations 3:23 NLT
