I LOVE NYC, but I can't take the winters up here. Last February, it didn't get above freezing the entire month, even during the day. My hillybilly blood can't take it, so I'm gonna hibernate in Nashville till spring. But, the real reason for the move is to explore an incredible songwriting/publishing opportunity down there. I spent some time during Thanksgiving and Christmas writing at Montage Music. Out of eight co-writing sessions, I wrote eight songs including my first country song. No, it's really good. I promise. NYC is the greatest city in the world, but Nashville is the greatest city in the world if you're a songwriter. My plan is to split my time between the two cities and play gigs on the way.
I've been on quite a roll lately -- twenty songs or so in the past three months. I hope to return to NYC in April with twenty more. Till then, I'll be playing my new tunes at gigs down South. Already booked a couple at F. Scott's.
Somewhere the theme to Welcome Back Kotter is playing ...
