Over the past few months I've been rather busy and at times I may not
get back to every question and message as quickly as I would like to.
So I thought I would compile this list of frequently asked questions
to help you out. If I missed anything or if you need any
clarifications feel free to message me here, or e-mail to
mummys-little-monster@hotmail.com
Q: Can I use your image for...?
A: This is the question I get the most frequently, and there is only one answer!
All images © Emily Thomas. Unauthorized use
prohibited. No permission to manipulate/reference will be given. All
other images © Respective companies and clients. I will not hesitate to take legal action.
Q: Can I get this tattooed?
A: I only ask that you respect all images stated as custom work.
This means that somone owns this piece, and most likely would not like
you walking around with the same tattoo. If you are unsure please
don't hesitate to ask.
Q: Do you do tattoos?
A: No, I do not Tattoo. It is something I was interested in doing at one
point but have since decided it was not the actual tattooing that
interested me but the art behind it. So long story short I've decided
to stick to painting.
Q: Do you design Tattoos?
A: Yes and No. In this section I will be as straight forward as
possible. If you are looking for somone to design you a full sleeve or
any other large, layout intensive project I will most likely say No. I
can't stress enough the fact that this is better left to an actual
tattooist. Find an artist you trust, somone who will share your
vision, somone who can actually measure your arm in person and you will
thank yourself in the long run. If you are looking for anything tribal
style I will say No, I don't like it and have no inclination to learn
to like it. If you are looking for a pin up or singular image I will
most definately say Yes. Another issue I want to discuss is the fact that I a painter, I like to paint, in fact I love it. So although a lot of my work my be tattoo related not everything I do can be directly translated as tattoo. I like to be up
front with all potential clients that while I would love to do painting
for you, and you may want to get the painting as a tattoo, you may
find your artist wanting to make changes so that it will work better as
an actual tattoo and I am ok with that! I 'm being very specific in
this area as I want to be very clear that when I do custom designs you
are buying an original piece of art from me, what you choose to use
this art for is completely up to you!
Q: How long have you been painting and what medium do you use?
A: I have been painting for about 3 years now, but have been drawing since
childhood. I made the switch to painting after discovering my love for
watercolors during my brief time of studying animation. I started out
painting backgrounds for assignments, and found myself dropping out of
my studies to pursue a career as an independent artist. All of my
paintings are done with a mix of ink and watercolor. Occasionally I
will use small amounts of digital work for logos and graphic design
projects.
Q: Do you design logos?
A: Yes, this is one of my more frequent request. I have created logos and
t shirt designs for various companies and bands. I have worked with
the following companies and bands in no particular order. Sourpuss
Clothing, Hells Blankets, Detroit Dollface Jewelry, Buzz Deluxe, The
Eradicators, Miss Misfits Accessories, Chopped Up Cherries, Toronto
Zombie Walk. This list is always growing and I will try to update it
as my client base grows.
Q: Do you do customized pin ups?
A: Most definately! In fact this is my personal favorite type of design
to work on! In this section I would like to clarify that I do not
specialize in any type of photo realistic work. All of my pin up
designs are one of a kind characters that capture the attributes and
style of the individual. Every pin up I create is special and I give
the client total control over every aspect of the piece. I find it to
be a very exciting and intimate experience for myself and the client.
When you get a Mummy's Little Monster Pin Up you have the distinction
of knowing you had a big part to play in your final painting.
Everything from the pose to the style of clothing even the colors, its
all up to you!
Q: What are your rates?
A: All of my customized work ranges from $125 US Dollars to $200 US
Dollars. Pricing is based on size and complexity of the image.
Included in the price is shipping within Canada and Continental US, all
other shipping will be discussed on and individual basis. You will
also receive a high resolution scan of the image and print ready file
for logo and graphic work. I'm also notorious for sneaking in a few
extra goodies into each package so you can bet on getting a special
something with each purchase!
Q: Do you sell prints of your work?
A: Yes I have large selection of prints in various sizes. You can get
prints of nearly all my images through my deviant art print shop. You
can also get other cool swag in the shop, magnets, mouse pads, mugs
etc! http://mummyslittlemonster.deviantart.com/prints
Q: Would you like to participate in my contest?
A: This is a request I get frequently. At this time I am not available to
participate in any contests. I have a fairly large fan base, and in
that base there are quite a few people running contests at any given
time. Although there are some that I would love to do, I don't think
it is fair to myself or paying clients for me to do any free work at
this time. My art is a large part of my income and I depend on my
sales to make ends meet. Although I'm a sucker for swag and cool
goodies, they just don't pay the rent.
Q: Are you available to work on a project with me?
A: I'm generally always taking on new projects. I usually work in two
week blocks. So if I happen to be booked when you contact me, the
longest wait is usually no more than 4 weeks.
Q: Do you do trades?
A: Yes, depending on my amount of free time I do enjoy doing the
occasional trade! If I like what you do and you like what I do...lets
do something about it!
Q: Can I find your work anywhere else besides myspace?
A: Yes, in fact if you would like to know more about me, or would like a
little more in depth interaction you can follow me on deviantArt.
